The A563 is Leicester City’s outer ring. And today I’m going to be cycling all of it. And we’re going to find out how long it takes and how many miles Leicester outer ring is. Let’s go. [Music] Yes, that’s right. I’d like to welcome you all to another cycling video. I do really like recording my cycling journeys from time to time, and I’ve decided to record this one because it’s kind of another big moment. For the past like 3 or 4 months, I’ve basically been cycling around the ring, going to each village or town one by one. And today, I’m going to get to cycle all of it. Once I get on the ring, I have to stay on the ring and I have to go around the full ring to complete this cycling challenge and my own personal cycling project. Okay, so usually how I do my tracking is as soon as I set out, I would start tracking the ride. Today, we’re going to do things a little bit differently. I’m not actually on the ring yet. I do have to actually get to the start of it. So, we are going to start this tracking as soon as I get to the start of Leicester outer ring road. [Music] What I want you guys to do now is comment down below how long you think it will take me and also how many miles you think it’s going to be. Cuz I actually don’t know. Google Maps won’t tell me. I want to know how many miles this is. I’m going to find out myself by tracking it. Take a good look at the crossroads because we are going down there. That’s where we’re going to start. And when we finish, we’ll be coming back from that way. Here we are. All right. The trekking has now begun and I am going swiftly downhill. We are now on Lester Ring. So, let’s do a bit of an overview quickly. How we’re going to talk about this today is Lester Ring most definitely has four sides. All right. So, we have the side I’m on now, the side to the left, the north leester at the very top, and also side four, which is very hilly, as you can see. Why is it so windy today? It’s meant to be July. Then again, I’m not too upset about it because it has been hot recently. Anyway, we are going to talk about the different places as we pass them today. So I am now approaching the first I’d say main landmark kind of thing of the journey which is Foss Park. That’s probably about half a mile down there. And then we need to [Music] 1 and 1/2 miles in just cycling on the ring. The wind is not blowing as much anymore, which is good. And I’ve just crossed over all of the junction at Foss Park. And we are definitely right now on site two of the ring. Anyway, we are now going to begin heading up north. And we’re going to be going up north for a while. We’re going to stop alongside different towns and villages. Some are not going to be as nice as others. We’re also going to come pretty close to the city center. All right, I’ve just passed the meridian and I’m now cycling towards New Park. And if you’re from Leicester, you’ll know that New Parks is not the nicest place. And yet we are in New Parks and I do not like it around here one bit. I’ve been on some shady hands in mistakes. Now I’m going down here which is a bit bad cuz it’s a main road. But yeah, I mentioned this every cycling video. I am going to stick to the path because it I’d feel a lot safer that way. I’m going alongside Glenfield. Then I’ll be going alongside the entrance to Ansty then Bone Le and then we’re going to start heading towards Waterme Country Park north to Thermston and Leester North. Obviously you got to get past Burwood to get there and that’s going to be like the halfway point of the whole ride. Quickly come down into the woodland cuz the path’s disappeared. But there’s the ring up there with all the traffic and I’ve just got to go back up there. Come down these steps. Just got to go back up there. But yeah, all going well so far. Getting closer and closer to the top of Leicester City. And that’s Leicester North. And there’s this big Saints there. I am planning on getting a drink there. So hopefully we can get there within the next say 20 25 minutes perhaps. And now for one of my favorite parts of any cycle. We get to go downhill. Woo! Oh god. Oh Jesus Christ. That is fast. The wind behind me. Oh. Oh. Oh my god. Wow. I did not realize it was that steep. Oh. Oh. Oh. That is bumping. Not very flat. Oh. All right. And we can rest. [Music] finally a little bit of peace and quiet. I’m still going alongside the rain, but I’m down in Waterme Country Park. Now, I’ve been here before. This is my first time cycling through it on a bike. I would actually like to see more of this place. It looks really, really nice actually. And it’s quite big, too. It’s not huge, but it’s quite big. I have an announcement. We are halfway there at 10 miles in 1 hour 20 minutes. That is not bad at all. That’s actually quite good. And I’m stopping at Sain’s Bridge and I’m going to get some drink because I quite like a drink and I think I’m going to need it for the hills that are coming up. Now that that breakthrough is over with, I’m back to cycle. Anyway, we are now moving on to the third side of the ring. This one is kind of like the first side. It’s fairly short, but the fourth side ring is going to be full of hills, and I think that one’s going to be the one that really ties me out. It’s been fun, man. All right, tick off the north. That is done. We now have to head back down to the south. And obviously, it’s spring. We’re going through New Territory to get there. We are in Hamilton right now and we do need to head all the way towards Ode and that’s quite a long way actually and we also have to pass the General Hospital which is the hilliest area in Leicester. So, let’s do it. Let’s go. [Music] 15 minutes away from the 2-hour mark and we are on the fourth section of the road. Now unfortunately unlike the first and second section of the ring which had loads and loads of towns and villages along with park intersections. The third and fourth section has industrial estate and hills. So until we can loop round back onto the first stretch again, we’re stuck with that. For the most part, I’ve been enjoying this bike ride today. Ending off my own cycling project this year. [Music] So glad to be past them hills. It was going up and down and up and down. The down bits were really fun, but up this not so much. Anyway, I would say we are literally about 30 to 40 minutes away from completing the challenge. And actually, it’s it’s not been too long, too dragged out. I definitely preferred the start of the challenge where we were going past all them villages through waterme that was so nice. Then it kind of after we passed the sainsburries, we kind of ended up going past industrial districts. It was very very hilly. The general were not a lot of different places to see, but you know, it’s all part of the challenge and the journey. I’m still glad that I’ve done this ride and vlogged it. 2 hours and a half, 17 miles, and we have looped all the way around. I am now on the first stretch of Leicester Ring. Again, we’ve gone all the way around in 2 and 1/2 hours. Although, we’re not at the starting point yet, which is also our finish point. Like I said, that’s about 20 minutes away. So, no more no more stalling. Let’s go. [Music] And at long last, here we are at the crossroads where it all began. Finishing in the same place we started. Ready for some end of road. It took me 3 hours to complete that ride. And I have worked out that Leicester Ring is 20 m long. We’ve seen so many different towns or villages. And I will put on the screen just how many that is. But mainly I never shared this project online about going around Lester Ring cycling. But I definitely have enjoyed it. You know, I started this project back in February, March time. I’ll find out where I decided, yep, I’m going to work towards going to every single town or village along Leicester Ring. Every single ride every other week, I would get on my bike and cycle hours. It literally takes me like a whole day. Half my weekend is gone, but that’s fine. I’m just happy to have done it, to finish my project. Next year, we’re going to go even further. I already know it’s going to be good. If you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to the channel. Thank you all so much for watching, and I’ll see you in the next video. [Music] [Music]
