Hi. Yeah, good, thanks.
Good. Uh, how was yesterday? How do you feel after yesterday?
It was a long hot day yesterday, but um yeah, really really nice result for the team winning the first stage. Um, and of course, we we we worked all day to try and uh bring it for a sprint in the final. So, uh it’s nice when a plan comes together like that and you you get the victory.
Yeah, I’m glad you I hear that. Um what about today? Did you see the profile? We have transportation. You rode here. Yes. Last year.
Exactly. Yes. Second time.
Same stage as last year. Um with the hilltop finish.
Um yeah, very looking forward to it. I think uh we have a really good chance today with Matthew Richello.
So hopefully uh try and get him to the climb in the best position possible and let him let him do his thing.
Yeah. So um we we know that through the front started and uh I already want to ask you who do you think is going to win this year? Do you have a favorite?
Yeah, I mean just looking at uh how he’s gone this season. I mean it’s going to be very difficult to beat Ted Bacha. I think he’s he’s he’s in great shape as we saw in the the Dolphin a couple weeks ago. Um so it’s I think it’s he’s he’s going to be the man to beat for sure. Yeah. Yeah. And um maybe it’s a sensitive question, you answer it or not each month. Uh about you, is this your last year as a professional cyclist or what are your plans?
Um yeah, we’ll see. I mean, it’s most likely going to be my last season, but I’ll I’ll make that decision uh closer towards the end of the season and uh see how see how I’m feeling basically about uh about continuing or or not.
Yeah. Uh, you continuing maybe as a sports director or No, I won’t I won’t be a sports director. Um, I mean um let’s see. Let’s see. I I’ve uh
I’ve got I’ve got some plans. I’d really like to um try and do something to to to help uh cycling in Africa
where where I grew up, especially in in East Africa. I think there’s there’s huge potential um huge huge potential there and I’d like to like to try and set something up to to um help this potential to grow.
Maybe a team,
maybe a team, maybe a project. Uh maybe more of a a grassroots project for youngsters, but um certainly certainly something I’m I’m still in the process of working that out.
