Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Hey, Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. N. [Music] Hey, what’s going on? Welcome to the stream. Thanks for tuning in, guys. We’re just doing our typical warm-up on Tempest Fugit. We’re going to do some Rhino racing. Uh this week it’s Glasgow Reverse. Should be fun. Um we got some stuff going on. Why is my chat not working properly? Oh well. must not be logged in on the OBS side of things. Ah, technical issues. You got to love them. How you guys doing? Good to see you. Miguel, Gordon, James. Oh, it’s a little light on the uh the stream. Is it That’s weird. It recognizes me as Let’s reopen the doc. Doc chat. There we go. Huh. It appears the chat no longer lets me input chat. So, we got to go to YouTube to do our chat. Hey Darren, how’s it going? First off, just want to say special thanks to uh all the supporters that uh have become members. That’s uh Nathan Craig, the Ginger Warrior, and Camille. Thank you all for uh supporting the channel like you do. It is deeply deeply appreciated. And we’re going to get to a screen where we can actually W. Oh, YouTube. Maybe it’s YouTube that’s being the problem. Let’s see if it’ll let me do it from my own channel. Turn the sound off just to make sure that we’re not double double spamming you with volume. There we go. All right. Again, I appreciate it’s uh Nathan Camille, Ginger Warrior. Thank you all so much. Appreciate it. We’re going to send out five memberships now. So, congratulations Miguel, Lucas, Alex, George, and Rob. all tying down memberships for the month. And we’re going to gift five more Ash Bath Salts, Marky, Mark, Wes, and Nick. All congratulations grabbing those monthly memberships. And again, thanks to Nathan, Ginger Warrior, and Camille for uh your support. Appreciate it, guys. Much much appreciated. I heard you’re going to do the climb portal. You heard wrong. Oh boy. Hey, Lucas. Yeah. Crime portal wrong. It’s funny. Uh if you’re in the Discord, you will see that I have shared um my last what was it? Three times up the Alp. Uh the last time I climbed the Alp Zift was in 2022. No word of a lie. That’s the last time I’ve been up. It’s been a few years and I don’t plan on doing it anytime soon until such time, like I said, as uh one of these streams, we managed to get ourselves in a situation where we’ve got a hundred consecutive people, which we’ve I I won’t say we’ve come close, but we had uh 52 consecutive watchers for Monday’s race, which is uh two weeks ago, and then I think 42 this week. So, it’s uh there you go. Out in 62 minutes. Nice. Nice. Oh, I won’t be climbing the Alps. You guys can’t get 100 people in here. [Laughter] Miguel was also kind enough to point out that uh in my little chart of Alps, my PR just got worse. And it’s not that I climbed the ALP ever uh for a time thing. I just kind of grind up there, but the times were just like brutal. Um but I committed to beating my last time off the Alp, which was like two hours. I committed to beating that by half an hour. So, I will do the Alp in at least 2 and 1/2 hours the next time I go up. Yeah, it’s uh I know a lot of people are going crazy for these climbs. It’s uh it’s good, but uh truth of the matter is is never ever would I uh probably wear the jersey for the devil one unless it was like a rare occasion years down the road. I mean, most time I just wear the dirt kit. I’ve worn the ZRL one because that’s definitely one that people don’t have. Um so, but generally the dirt kit is is where we’re at. Yeah, that was a nice sprint today. Uh, Colin, I was worried for a second. You did you were doing the what I did, which was kind of like except I had somebody further down the road and just kind of like pop out the front and drag everybody to the line because that’s what I did on Monday 100%. Knock an hour off that and we have a deal. Wait, you want me to do it in three and a half hours, Gordon? The ALP? I can do that. I can do the ALP in three and a half hours. I’m committed. If you’ve been watching, I’ve been putting up shorts. Um on on the channel as well, uh I haven’t been vlogging too too much or at all really. Um this year I I think you know after I was in Malaysia and Singapore and I did ride out there um I kind of decided ultimately that I wanted to um you know get back to riding and stuff like that. like you guys will when you’re riding around with a camera, uh sometimes it takes away from what you’re doing. Uh so I’ve been kind of focused on that. I got a new setup though. Um I’ve got it so I can actually have my power stats uh from my rides in there. So what I’ve been doing is chasing some PRs. Um I went after one. I think the first one I tried uh I just missed the KOM by a second uh in a sprint segment, but uh puts me at top 1% of riders here, which is uh and it’s a busy segment. It’s gets about 20,000 people a year that go through that segment. So, yeah, it’s uh we’re gonna we’re going to be chasing some of that. So, I mean, if you’re in the Discord and there’s some kind of PR you’d like me to chase, I mean, you can look. I live in Calgary. You can take a look at all the nice little roots and Straa segments that we have, but um maybe we’ll make it a a bigger thing more than the 60-second videos. But, uh I don’t know. It’s it’s real world zifting. You’re going after something and uh taking a slap. Sub 100 watt Alp slow race. There we go. 200 watts all the way up. No problem. Yeah, that’s that sounds like effort. James did that. First time I’ve been in the climbing portal in two years. Oh god. Climbing not my thing. uh doing 3.5 rather than 90 minutes would actually be worse. Long recovery ride, you know, I I don’t like the thing is is when you grind up the alpha and and I know what I was doing like when I look at it because there’s there’s a bunch of rides. It was to to fully unlock the the Tron bike. I got close and I just wanted to get it done. So that’s that’s why. But like I said, I have not voluntarily gone up there in like the last 3 years. Oh, nice. Nice. Yeah, RZ’s race is uh tomorrow. Um should be should be a fun time for everybody. Uh, I will be probably at work, so I will, uh, unfortunately not be able to partake in the fun, but he’s got well over a 100 participants. Uh, it’s awesome to see. And this video at the end when we go, it’s going to dump you over on Colin’s channel for his race earlier, which is well worth watching. Um, if somebody that stays in for that portion, let me know. if you go uh we’re still experimenting with the feature. We don’t know all the 100% because YouTube doesn’t exactly tell us what we can and can’t do with it. Um so it would be appreciated if uh people let me know how it kind of works and uh if you get where you get thrown where you get thrown. Hey George, what’s going on? Congratulations. you are again a recipient of a membership for a month. So yeah, I mean lots going on. It’s going to thunderstorm again. It’s stampede week here, so there’s tons of cowboys, pancakes, barrel racing, all that kind of yahooy kind of stuff. Um, got to be careful if you go out on the bike, especially late at night or later rides because uh people like to tie one on during the stampede unfortunately and uh lots of people uh probably driving vehicles that shouldn’t be. So, if you’re around the city, you be careful. I even commented on a collab. I even commentated a club ladder race at the end. Oh, nice. Nice. I’m already signed up. Yeah, it would be uh be fun to do RZ’s race, but unfortunately timing and all that kind of stuff. Thanks. I guess I truly deserve it. I think you get anytime that I have them to give away. I think you get them. Um, you you need to buy lottery tickets, George. You need to buy lottery tickets or pull tabs or scratch tabs or the national lottery or whatever you guys have. Oh, I was going to try and uh multistream today and test out Mel. I’ll probably do that on the weekend. Um do a test stream. I’ve created account over on kick. Not that anybody really participates other than YouTube. It’s kind of weird. I multireamed to Twitch a lot and it just kind of flat there. Uh kick kick’s a very similar kind of thing, but we’ll see. We’ll see what we do. And then I have to make up my mind. Uh there’s a gravel race next Saturday whether or not I want to uh go out and get absolutely destroyed. Um, again, big race locally on place that I know and can ride. Just I I don’t know if I want to go that that route. Unfortunately, Austrian lottery doesn’t like me as much as you. Sorry to hear that, George. Maybe the luck will change. There we go. I am glad that I am a adequate sleeping aid for you, Darren. Um, you don’t have to buy a white noise machine from Amazon. You just have to simply come here, watch me race, and uh, put myself in the hurt locker and breathe you to sleep. [Music] So, I’m back on the surveill again, trying to level this guy up. We’ll see. Thanks, Odinis. Thanks for the ride on. Just have to remember to switch the bike out for the race, otherwise it could be a pretty slow race for me. Good night to Malta. Race tomorrow should be interesting. Hoping the groups work together or it could be chaos. Um they had the massive one before. It was it was fastpaced. It’s uh the teams were working hard. Definitely working hard. Um there’ll be a lot of a lot of good racers in that race. So expect a I I would expect a fast one 100%. Not sure how he’s got it set up. My last one was a mass start. So, we will see. I’d need to check. I think we neutralize upgrades. Maybe bikes on crits. Oh, do you? That’s no fun. [Laughter] Oh, you neutralize upgrades. Yeah, upg up upgrades. I can see bikes like I mean the Cllo is going to be slow in comparison to an SL8 or the Pinerello, but hey, Silver Comet. Um people will tell you probably yes. Um Coach Steve has some interesting stories about me crashing and mountain biking. Um, sometimes it’s it it depends, I guess, Silver Comet, kind of like where my head’s at. Um, I I do these for fun. It’s, uh, so I I don’t like try to kill myself, I guess, is the way to do it. But, uh, I definitely have that in me. um where I can really really go deep in the hurt locker if it’s something I I guess ultimately that is like super important to me. Um at the end of the day, you know, it’s uh it just sort of depends. Um there are sometimes like I will, you know, knowing knowing that my race is over, I will ease right up uh and save myself for another day, too. But, uh, it really it really kind of depends. I mean, if it meant like if it was the race and the race that I had to do and that was absolutely it, oh, 100% I would really kind of dig in there. Um, you know, I’ve, uh, I’ve taken more than my fair share shares of punches and kicks. Um, in 1997 at nationals, uh, in the finals, I took a kick which I didn’t realize until the fight was over that broken my ribs and I continue to fight for, you know, three rounds after that until the fight was over. So, I mean it was uh you just kind of deal with it and then after all the adrenaline and uh you know the endorphins kind of take a vacation and you you know recover you realize how much it actually hurt bike upgrade physics. They have a New York km twice. Twice for good measure. Oh jeez. Ah, you’re a hell of a racer, George. What can I say? Hey, Bass Salts. How’s it going, my man? Just in case you’re wondering, uh, we do bike racing here. We might do bike racing. I’m not sure. Maybe. I think I’m on a bike. What category am I, Darren? Um, I am I don’t know what c What category? I’m in the 500s here. Low fives. 455. I don’t know. was mid high fives and then I did that crazy weekend and I got dropped right down. Temptation to go deep in the hurt locker for no reason goes goes down as you get older. I agree Rain 100%. It’s uh I I think it’s just a matter of being smart. And speaking of being smart, I need to stretch otherwise things things won’t go as well as planned. No, 100% man. It’s uh the desire to do silly things definitely diminishes with age. I mean, I have had my fair share of uh hospital time because of mountain bike crashes and all that kind of stuff. Um, broken collar bones, uh, dislocated shoulders, you name it. Um, you know, I have a couple full face helmets that have uh stem imprints on the uh face piece because, you know, the hands slip off the bar when you’re jumping off something way too big and you smash your face in there and, you know, big doing big doubles and triples and all that kind of stuff and going at mock speed down mountains. Um, it all can end really quick. We used to have a saying when we were uh riding, it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when and how bad. Um, you just kind of ride that fine line on a mountain bike, especially downhill and free ride where it’s at some point there there are consequences uh to some of the big stuff that you do end up doing. So, but did I win? Uh, I’m not sure. Bass salt. I’m not sure if I’m ever winning. Oh, the fight. Uh, nationals. Yes. Yes. I was on the national team from like 97 to 2003. So, yeah, that was a bad fight. I had broken ribs. And then, it was funny cuz I had a wedding to go to like a day later and all the capillaries in my nose had broken. So, I had this jet black nose because the blood started to pull and I looked, you know, a little raccoon at the end of the day. Um, not, you know, I need as much help with my looks as possible anyways. And that did not help uh for the uh the looks factor for that uh that wedding. You know, dressed me up, but you know, giant black punched up face. It’s just how it goes. Ah. Oh, nice. Your band’s over, Darren. That’s good. That’s good. I’m glad to hear it. It’s uh long time coming. So we can actually watch your stream and see some numbers and not see that we’re waiting for other people and results. Is that that what it means? Darren was on a 31-day ban from Zift. That uh I don’t know how many people can claim that. I don’t know how many people they actually like I I think that puts you in elite category right there, Darren. It’s uh Oh, you got a problem with sauce. Is that because of the duplicate? Uh, you got close to it, bass salt. Yikes. Oh, it’s it’s probably your login. I can’t I don’t know if your login’s changed or anything like that with what’s been going on or if it’s just not pumping out data the same because of the uh the uh restrictions on your account. I would just uh I would uninstall it, reinstall it, and and relog in and do all that kind of stuff again and just uh start from scratch if if it doesn’t want to cooperate. Yeah. Yeah. So, it’s probably still dealing with some of that. Yeah. I would I would just try reconnecting it. I would just completely shut it down and then redo your settings and relog it in and do all that kind of good stuff. Yeah, it’s it’s going to happen. I mean it it’s interesting too like sauce s sauce I think technically is against the terms and services of zift but here we all are using it because it’s provides valuable data for Um, I I would just do it fresh, Darren. I would reinstall everything and just start fresh. And then that way there’s no hiccups. Well, with the the thing it’s it’s pretty easy. You just bring up the settings and it’ll show it. I think they’ve set it up now where you can actually oneclick install some of the stuff. I don’t know if Ono’s stuff is uh that way, but there’s some that just directly install use stop sauce. I I like it just to to see I I mean it’s it’s really seeing where you are in the draft cuz sometimes you think you’re in the draft and you’re really not. Um also I’m mowing. You’re a multitasker calling. Can you honk at the mirror of the city while you’re on the mower? That’s the big question. Is it like the fire truck? Oh, wow. Thousand points. Nicely done. Hey, Lee. No, there’s uh there’s less violence in GTA 6. How’s it going, Lee? I imagine you’re taking a few pokes at those portals, Lee. I mean, you must be excited for those. We need a new JD meme. Um, I I put a new redeemable in. Uh, there is a new redeem. I put that in the Discord. See, if I lived on the other side of Canada in Ontario and Toronto, then it would be the answer 100% yes. This is the GTA because GTA isn’t GTA video game wise, but it is the GTA. They refer to themselves as the GTA, the greater Toronto area. Well, Lee just flies up climbs. I I am always impressed with uh Lee’s efforts up climbs. It is uh always good. So, let’s join the event. Switch the bikes before I forget because I’m not racing on this Cllo. Hey, Holly. How’s it going? Sorry, I I did not see usually only on my Twitch chat I have a bunch of bots that get banned from uh dropping in. We are racing uh some crits. We are doing the Rhino crit racing, so we’re probably going to perform poorly because that’s what we do the last couple days. Um, my FTP dropped. I lost a point. Not very impressed with that. Um, but that’s the reality of uh testing every month. You’re going to sometimes not move anywhere, work really hard and not move anywhere, and sometimes lose a point, just not have a good day. That’s how it goes. There is a mod for GTA that uh oh I do have another bottle um that ultimately you can do where you ride around on a bicycle using Zift or using your trainer to power it. I have seen that. Uh it’s pretty funny. I mean if you want to feel vulnerable as a cyclist that is the way to do it. right around GTA. What did I do? Why am I not uh gee, you think I just got this game today? All right. All right. All right. All right. Cheers, people. Nothing like the good electrolyte syrup mix. Oh. All right. What do we got? We got two. What? No. No. No. We need more than two bull shark test. What? What is that? Jaggermeister. Oh, you know, I I haven’t had a drink in probably I want to say like five, six, seven years. Like it’s been a really long time. Um like Jagger like cough medicine, man. Uh, hey Steph, how’s it going? Yeah. Yeah. I I reckon that I could podium here, but it becomes a question of what do we want to do? Do we want to find something else potentially? Why is everything broken today? They have changed a bunch of stuff today and it’s just ruining how I get around because I’m so used to things being somewhere and uh they’re not there. There we go. Maybe they fixed something. Oh, well, everybody got paid for last week, I guess, now. And the bot should be open. There’s got to be more than two. There’s got to be more than two. We got eight minutes. Wow. Everything is really not working for me today. All it’s showing me today is Z-Racing events. There we go. Maybe the reverse is scaring people. Now there’s like 10 people signed up, so there’s going to be a dump of people coming in. Hey, Alex, I don’t know about that, man. UK is not a bad place to ride. Like to be honest, like was talking about the roads. I would ra rather ride on UK roads than ride on the roads here. Like here the roads are an absolute mess just because it goes to minus 40 and then it goes to like plus 30 and everything in between and we just have these huge cracks and like major craters and Oh, it’s it’s brutal. Absolutely brutal. Absolutely brutal. All right, take this off. Pregame uh P. I will be back. Entertain yourselves. All right, there we go. That’s right. Uh Colin, you got to entertain yourselves. The uh P audio is extra. It’s an extra charge. It’s an upcharge. UK roads where cars frequent are brutal. Again, I live in Alberta. It is the home of the Ford F-150, which is a truck that everybody drives, wears white sunglasses, and uh blows diesel fuel all over your face anytime they go by. So, it’s uh I will take small cars versus giant monster trucks that have been picked up and ridden by a guy that wears flannel and uh white sunglasses and a baseball cap. Most likely uh New York, even though we’re nowhere near New York. That’s just how it is. undulating roads. It keeps you entertained. How about downtown Dolphin next week? I’m going to start doing these with JD. You You could talk to Paul. Paul is the man that uh sets all those up. Golden shower audio stream. Oh boy. Oh boy. Check my Discord. Oh god. What? What about my Discord? What am I missing on my Discord? I don’t see anything, Colin. Or you send me a message. You sent me a message. There we go. [Laughter] Out there doing the hard work. That’s what neighborhood kids are for, Colin. Underpay them and get them to do it. And they’ll do a halfass job, but still. Then you can ride the bike. What do we got? 2 minutes and 20 seconds. I switched the bike. We got five people in here. We’re doing reverse. Which means we got the long climb up. This is uh I don’t know if Peter’s back from France yet, but uh this is Peter’s favorite route. He likes doing the reverse route. Got seven laps. I guess guess these are things I should pay attention to like how many laughs we have. Not a bad thing. See a lot of disc wheels. I did not go with discs. I wish somebody could answer that for me about the discs and the regular wheels. I know there’s, like I said, there’s an 18second penalty for TT versus road, but where’s that number coming off of? So, does it make the disc wheels worse for road bikes? I would hope. Yes, you have got them before, Darren. You have got them before. George is just the luckiest guy when it comes to that. And what Miguel says is also true, but I I think I think Darren has got it enabled because I believe he has got one before. Yeah. And that’s what I’m running now, Gordon, is DT65. I just always see the disc wheels and I’m like, does somebody know something that I don’t know? Which is possible because there’s lots of things that I don’t know. What? Three months. Power ups with both banners. Gordon [Music] should be okay. Thank you. Ye claw. Oh, Next question.
Yeah. Hi. Can you ride fast?
[ __ ] you. [Music] Mama [Music] The dragons. Breakaway. Breakaway for this year has been used already a couple weeks ago. There will be no duplicating. I don’t know about there’s no such thing as an easy win, Alex. I got a little glitchy there and there. That’s going all right. Joe, you How was vacation? [Music] Ye claw. E-claw. Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. [Music] for the humanity. He is slower than a disabled sausage dog. [Music] Next question.
Yeah. Hi. Can you ride fast?
[ __ ] you. Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. [Music] Woo! [Music] Doo doo doo. Beware. Oh, dragons. Yeah. Okay. Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. Ye claw. What are you doing? Beware dragons. Ye claw. I’ve been working out so hard today that my sleeve fell off. Ah, [Music] Next question.
Get higher. Can you ride fast?
[ __ ] you. Oh, the humanity. He is slower than a disabled sausage dog. [Music] I’ve been working out so hard today that my sleeve fell off. [Music] Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. [Music] The ro Again, the dragons. [Music] The dragons. Next question. Can you ride fast? [ __ ] you. Next question.
Can you ride fast? [ __ ] you. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. [Applause] [Music] Beware dragons. [Music] Ali, ali [Music] dragon. [Music] Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. Ye claw. Be roll dragon. Ali ali. Nice race. Ali. Ali. [Music] Is there no results? What happened to the results? We not get results on screen anymore. Thanks. Thanks everybody. Bet podium. Was there just an update that I missed or something or I must have just clicked through or something like that. That was toasty. Good on Stephvenson. He uh I’m surprised everybody dropped off. I didn’t think uh the pace picked up that much. Hey, thanks for subscribing there are appreciate it. Yeah, that was uh kind of interesting. Well, they did that thing where it’s supposed to uh have the what’s it called? The uh numbers on your ass after the race. I’m also curious, uh, does it have the ranking thing in the chat or No, I don’t think it does. It’s all good. I mean, there’s always whiff power you can look at kind of thing. Is there a result screen when I go into the menu? Menu, workout, pair, garage settings. Oh, end ride. Timeline critical. I don’t think so. It’s all good. We know what happened. Ah, I see the numbers on the butt. It may have I wouldn’t put it past them on the uh on the update messing some stuff up. Yeah, it just didn’t appear uh the dark but we were first. It was comfortable. Comfortable enough. It wasn’t a line line biter. So, and like I said, there’s always Zift Power that I can look at. I guess there is the app, too. I guess I could just look at the Zift app. But it’s been that’s been weird for me today, too. I I’ve had having so many tech issues today that uh so we won by like half a second point 4. Stephvenson was right there. Um only 138 beats a minute. Makes me wonder if he was working that hard. Although Stephvenson his average for the race was 278 um 3.5 watts a kilo. I was at 29. DDUB was at 3.1 3.0 2.8 3.2. So again, I’m like at the bottom of working. Oh, there’s all sorts of bots. Oh god, no, no, no. I just uh transported to Fugit. I was just trying to see if I could get through the uh the screens. I miss uh who is it? Is it Bernie the Debbot? And I can barely keep up with Bernie. Let’s be honest. When I start talking, I just drift off the back anyways. But uh no, it was a nice mixup. Uh I find that that that route like I like Glasgow. I like the other way because that and those those of you who race with me or watch me race on Glasgow the other way know that that climb almost every lap I will absolutely hammer it up there from the back. Um yeah 3.7 watt per kilogram cool down based on my like 2 eight effort throughout the race. That’s uh Yeah. No. No, no, no. Let’s see where our bikes are at. Getting close to I won’t even unlock that today. But um well the the thing is with the other way is like the zifty um which everybody does or if you watch Doom guy it’s the BFG uh which is uh a modified Zifty um tends to be the move that people pull Um, I like I like it if there’s a Zifty in there. Um, cuz I like to tailgate the Zifty. It’s uh I I I like tailgating it cuz anybody who does that move guns from the back. And I gun from the back, too. But you just watch them. Um, you start ramping up with them and then it’s just like it’s a lead out like no other. Um, it’s beautiful. It’s a thing of beauty. But, uh, the reverse has a couple different possibilities uh, for the finish in the sense that there’s the first up after you come out plus past the blue car, the first turn to go up is a natural attack point. Um, if you can maintain that power and there’s those kind of undulating ramps through there, uh, you can get build up a lead quite quickly. And then the second dip and ramp towards the banner is another great attack spot. I was I mean my my strength is being able to go hard and then do nothing and then go hard again and that’s just kind of it. I can repeatedly attack like that. Uh if you let me rest. If you don’t let me rest then I’m in trouble. But um if you let me rest I can do that once a lap. I mean, they’ll they’ll get progressively slower as the race rolls on, but um you can definitely hurt people. And that’s kind of what I was trying to do a little bit in this one was hurt people. Again, I didn’t expect the group to kind of fall off the back like that where they did. Um it kind of surprised me. Zifty. Yeah, it’s uh Zifty Zifter. He patented, they call it the Zifty because he uh as you go into the church, you tail gun in the back and then you launch through the pack up the ramp and by the time people react if they’re not watching cuz they’re kind of like waiting for the pure sprint, uh you’ve got a second or two and it makes it really hard to drag them back. But again, if you’re if you’re tailging um and watching like this, this is the difference between Zift and and racing. Like you can’t tail gun like that in a real race because you can’t move through that many bodies um that fast. Uh you got to be sitting like you want to be sitting like third, fourth wheel. Uh because if somebody goes or blasts through, like you got to be able to chase and you can’t have a bunch of people in your way that are going to slow you down. So there you go. Um I did not buy the big disc wheels. We’ve been talking about that like um is the disc wheels in the update for Zift um are no longer the best match for road bikes. Um, and there is in theory there’s an 18second penalty between a TT bike and a road bike with disc wheels. Now, there are charts with the times and all that kind of stuff that are out there, but it’ll show the discs as the fastest, but we don’t I don’t know if it takes into account that penalty or not in that chart. Um because if it does then discs are nowhere near the fastest on a road bike. Um and you know it’s uh but if they are what they are then the disc is definitely the fastest. I feel like um and Gordon had kind of mentioned this a bit earlier was that uh there is that compatibility. The road bike they wanted road Zift wanted road wheels on road bikes. They didn’t really want everybody rolling around with these big disc wheels because let’s be honest, in a road race, crit race, whatever on a road bike, typically you are not um riding around with a big wheel like that because even even on a flat four corner crit, um it’s not going to be the best maneuverable, fastest wheel that you’re going to have. you’re going to have some deep set wheels, but uh you know there’s there’s some stuff with that. And then with the UCI changing the rules as well, um you know, you never know. I don’t personally um you know, I have like Zip 303s and then I’ve got a set of roval for the SL8. Um I don’t roll any bigger than that. So, my strength is finishing fourth all the time. Hey, Joe, that will change. Like I said, I have a video out, man. Like, guys will tell you, uh, up until recently, there was a stretch of time for like nine months where I was just repeatedly getting smashed every single race. you know, I would come in fourth at best and that was a big race for me, but I was generally midpack, not very fast and uh thing and then it just I don’t know things things changed. Um, ZRL H finals happened, something clicked. Summertime, like I I always say, in the summer, I just get faster because I ride that much more um outside and I do a lot of a lot of my outside is zone two, like long zone two. So, I will be three, four hours on the bike zone two. So, it just builds that bigger base and that just helps. So, still mowing. Nice calling. Nice. Um, Zift striving for realism like how we use feathers to lose weight on the climbs in real life. Yeah. I I mean, and all in all, Zift is a game. Um, you don’t want it. I mean, it might be nice to have it exactly like racing, but to the same extent, some of the things that happen in racing would be extremely frustrating in Zift. Like if you want to run, you know, blocking, like a good example, there’s a there’s a crit in Canmore. Um, one of the guys I know his team managed to get a guy in the break. Uh, there’s three up in the break and then the rest of his team basically all they did was run blockers. Um, they just sat at the front of the group and kept the pace low. Um, and then if somebody went, they would pull them back and then they would get up front and they would slow the pace down um to give their boy a chance at the podium, which he got. So, it’s that would be infuriating for Zift. And then, you know, some of the stuff like getting caught out of position and all that kind of stuff. I mean, it would be nice, but it’s uh it’s it’s hard to do, too. I mean, I think ultimately that’s what they’re trying to do a little bit with the steering and stuff like that. Um, I don’t know if any of you guys were on Indie before Trainer Peaks bought it. Uh, George Gilbert, he was a developer there for that. Uh, he did a really good job of, um, kind of setting up the pacing and the mechanics to be very much attack, counterattack, um, very kind of real race feeling. Uh he added wind in there as well to add that dynamic. So crosswinds, headwinds. So if you raced a course like Galasgo, um you would it would change every race because the wind direction would change and the intensity of the wind and all that kind of stuff and weather conditions. And the other thing with Indie Vel as well was that uh it had not not only did it have like the race dynamics in the sense that there was kind of a little bit of blocking and stuff like that, but the corners like here if you sprint into a corner uh you rail it. Um like you can’t do that in real life. I mean you can but you’re going to you’re going to die. Um, like again like I had I have some shorts where I go after the KM um or after PRs and the one that I just about got the KOM with in that sprint segment. You’ll see me I really bomb that corner. Um but you can’t if you go too fast through that corner you’re going to basically you’re done. You’re done. Like you have to corner properly. you have to go in, you can’t like pedal uh all the way fast through some corners. Um I don’t know if any of you have ever had a pedal strike before, but uh you know that is not cool, not fun. Ah, how does sweat loss equal to a feather? Yeah, maybe that’ll be the next feature. Miguel, they’ll have real time weight. They’ll build the trainers with a weight scale in it. So, it’s got you, your bike on your trainer, and that will be your weight for the race. It’ll measure that, but it will do it actively. So, at the end of the day, when people like myself can lose 5 lbs and sweat like nothing. Um, we’ll get faster as the race goes on. I did some TT and try to PB on Blown and Tempest Fusion with TT bike. Those extra seconds that it makes a difference. the TC bike if you’re not in a big group and drafting the TCD bike makes a huge difference. An absolutely huge difference at the end of the day. But yeah, it’s uh good fun. But uh yeah, I’m glad there was uh I was getting worried there, Gordon, that we were only going to have two racers, but uh eight is plenty in uh those regards. Uh, as I mentioned, when this stream uh shuts down here, it should jump you over to Colin’s channel uh for his race. He does LA Croissant. I recommend that you watch it because um if you haven’t done that race and you haven’t done that course, when I raced it, I thought I had done the course, but I hadn’t. Um it’s going to be a really good course going forward. I like the course. Um, there’s got some interesting dynamics to it with the cobbles and stuff like that. Uh, the finish is going to be a tough finish for a lot of people. Um, Colin ran it to perfection as far as it goes. Um, you know, he you just can’t get a better finish than Colin had on that. That’s all I’m going to say about that. But you definitely have to watch that. It is well worth the watch. It is a spectacular uh finish. Um and uh absolutely he just crushed it. He crushed it. It was good. Uh he did everything that I wanted to do on uh but didn’t in my race at the end of the day. But uh if you haven’t done so already, I ask that you uh please smash that like button. Again, I’m going to say uh thank you to all the uh people that have become supporters of the channel that uh became members. So, uh Nathan, if you haven’t seen Nathan’s new podcast, The Like for Conspiracy, I recommend you go deal uh go take a look at that. Uh Ginger Warrior, who also has a great race channel there as well. And Camille, appreciate it, guys, that uh you know that you spend your hard-earned money supporting the channel. It is deeply appreciated. Thank you so much for that. Uh congratulations to everybody that won free memberships for the month. We do that at the beginning of every month. We give out 10 memberships to the channel. Um just gives you some access to some videos that we hide here and there and uh some things. But uh don’t feel that channel is entirely free. And uh just just saying like I appreciate the support for those guys who choose to do that. It is extremely awesome. Uh, if you haven’t done so already, join the Discord, smash that like button now. Hopefully, when we end this stream here in a second that it will kick you over to, uh, Colin’s channel. Uh, if not, uh, you can definitely check it out. There is a link to his video in the Discord. Please join us there. That’s where the afterparty is. We’re always talking Swift stuff, racing stuff, guys. uh getting races together and talking all sorts of stuff and we’ve got the voice chat in there sometimes when we race as well. Uh you’re all more than welcome to join. Uh as well there’s a link in the Discord to RZ’s Fourth of July event which is tomorrow will be a big race. Tons of fun. Uh thanks to Gordon and Paul Rhino Racing for putting on these fantastic crit races every week. Uh until next time, see you. But stay put. Hopefully this will launch you over and we will catch you all later. Enjoy mowing that lawn, Colin. Uh we love you, dude.
