So the rise goes to 500 m to go. Then it take a sharp right and it starts to slowly go down for 100 meters and kicks up the last 300 meters. Big effort there by Lipage. He’s not looking back. Only looking good as well. Hannah Phipe looks good on this finish. Big move on the outside. Felix Gal comes up. He’s already won a stage of the tour. Felix Gal is there. Luxenko is still there. Vanderpool in the middle. We’ve got 670 meters to go. Enrich Mass on the right hand side. It’s going to be an allout sprint for the top of this. Big move of Julian Alfalip. Alfaleip launches, looks around, sees Machu Vanderpool. Decides not to go. Wenger moves up on the wheel of Taga. Pagatcha looking for his hundth win in his career. Alfalipe swings across the road. Not prepared to go to the front yet. It’s a long way to the finish line. Big move on the left hand side of the road. Pagatcha looks. Vulcan goes again to try and win the stage. Vanderpool now starts to open it up. It is such an elite group of riders. Moving up. Alfalip onto the wheel of Tad Paga. Wengerard moves up on the left hand side. There goes Matthew Vanderpool. Vanderpool starts the acceleration. He sees the gantry in front of him. It’s going to be all out between Vanderpool and Pagacha. Vanderpool and Pagatcha. Left, right. Vanderpool. Matthew Vanderpool wins stage two.

  1. Where were Roglic and especially Remco? This was a stage well suited for Remco, and considering how much time he lost yesterday, I would have thought he would have been battling for a stage win or at least as many bonus seconds possible. Jonas may not be known for his sprint, but at least he was right up there with Pog and MVDP at the finish line.

  2. I can't believe MVDP won this off the front. I thought it was all over once Alaphilippe swung off the front and left MVDP in the wind with all that massive talent on his wheel. Amazing!

  3. People forget, Tadej never beat healthy Jonas last year. He has done so much this year but to show he is truly a generational rider, he needs to beat heathly Jonas at the tour. I say this with the utmost reapect and excitement for both riders. We are lucky to see them compete at such a high level.

  4. If Pogacer would've attack immediately after Alla Phillipe attacked , I mean much earlier and not staying after Van der Poel attack he could've wan the stage .
