We got a good look at not one but two bikes that GC hopeful Remco Evenepoel will be using at the Tour de France. Custom paint and custom parts, plus unreleased equipment — only the best for Belgium’s great hope!

Hello. Welcome. I’d say Le, but we’re about 45 minutes south to the first of what is going to be our Tour to France video coverage. And we’ve got we’ve got a bit of a special bike here, but not just one bike. We got two bikes. If you hang around for the other one in a minute on this video and it is well a man who’s hoping to sit at top the podium or at least get on the podium. Remco of course as an Olympic champion. It’s got a fetching colorway because if you don’t know, you’re not allowed the Olympic bands on anything unless you’re at the Olympics. So yes, Olympic champion deserves a gold paint job as well. So the bike you will be using at this year’s Tory France is of course the S Works Tarmac SL8. A bike that they used last year and a bike that many brands say is the pinnacle of the road world. The one that they pit all their bikes against. So, what is he using? What is new? Let’s start from the top because he’s got a brand new saddle. It is the new power mirror evo. We first saw this as a prototype back when I tell the blas was on, but yes, all new power mirror saddle. Still got that carbon manufacturing process there. 3D printed. Comes this time in four sizes. And Remco’s using a 142 width. Brand new wheels only released a couple of weeks back. The new Rovelt CLX Sprint. These are well super light and now with carbon spokes that apparently sheds 98 g from a wheel set. What’s new about them? Yes, carbon spokes, new depth on the front. We got deeper rim on the front to the rear. If I remember rightly, I think it’s about 62 up front and a 58 out back. Tubeless ready there. I run tubeless this time. And we got 30 mil tubeless cot specialized cotton on here. Right, let’s del other other exciting bits and pieces. We cannot forget about carbon tide chain ring which is quite surprising because this team is officially sponsored by Shimano. So it’s a surprise to see a departure from the normal jaw race chain rings. Huge size on here. 5538 there matched to an 1134. Remco’s going short on the cranks as well. 165 this time round for him. More sizes for you. Bar width. He is running a 38 with a 115 stem. And to keep his computer in place, he’s got well a custom Remco gold K edge mount. Weight wise now. Let’s have a look. Let’s take some bets.
71.
71. Hannah.
69.
69. I’m 69. Let’s have a look. I’m going to go 73. 71. We got a winner, right? And other numbers, if you want to know other numbers, I did ask about tire pressure and the mechanic just went average. Bike number two is coming up, so stay tuned. I promised you another bike and hopefully I’m not going to disappoint. This time round, a limited edition one for Remote, and it’s one to celebrate their 1,000th win as a team. As you may know, Quickstep has been around quite a few years, 22 if I’m not wrong, started life back in 2003 when Canavan, a man who went on to win rubé in the muddiest edition, I think, won the first stage of the tour of Qatar. Couple of weeks later, Batini rounded it out with a pretty good win at Milan Sanreo, the Pocket Rocket. So, what’s difference between this and his race bike? Absolutely nothing. He has got the same saddle bars, wheels, tires on there, apart from the chain ring. He’s running the standard Jaw Race chain rings again, 54, 40 on there, and again 165 cranks. The question is, how different do the chain rings make to the overall weight of the bike? Well, you’re in luck. Let’s have a look. Ooh, 7.15. There is another man who’s got a bike exactly the same as this. And it’s a man who got over 10% of those wins. Mr. Tom Boon, the living legend, a man who now races uh cars for a living. Yesterday they presented not just Remco with this, but Tom as well. So, it’s a very limited edition number of bikes, isn’t it? Not quite as limited as the amount of winds that it took to get to this stage in the quick step lifespan. All in all, not a bad machine to race around France on, is it? First video done and dusted from here in Leil at the Tory France. There is plenty more coming your way. So, subscribe if you haven’t already. Join the conversation. And as always, thank you for watching and enjoy your riding. Enjoy the talk.
