[Music] what’s up guys and welcome back to the channel in case this is your first time here this is a cycling youtube channel so if you’re into cycling especially gravel cycling consider subscribing to the channel italian bicycle companies when i think of classic road bikes i associate that with these really cool old italian bike brands that have been around forever these italian brands have been making awesome road bikes for a really long time but with the explosion and popularity of gravel i was curious to see what italian brands are now offering a gravel bike i have a buddy who has a buddy who works for specialized and he told me that last year gravel made up 50 of specialized sales so it really only makes sense that a lot of these bike manufacturers that have made road bikes for so long are now offering a gravel bike so without further ado let’s check out five legendary italian bike companies who are now offering a gravel bike the first brand on the list is call nago kalnago an italian brand founded by ernesto conago has been producing high-end road bikes since the 1950s the company first gained recognition for their high-end steel frames and later as one of the more creative cycling manufacturers for their innovations in design and experimentation with different frame materials the brand now offers a gravel bike the g3x this bike is offered as a carbon frame in two different colors and either shimano grx 800 build or sram etap force one axis so when looking at the conago site they didn’t really offer a lot of information as far as the price goes but i was able to do some research online and i found that the base model of this bike can be had for around twenty seven hundred euros or three thousand dollars the next brand on the list is pinnarello panarello another italian brand founded by giovanni pinarello has been producing bicycles since the mid-1950s while the company primarily supplies road and track bikes they have now joined the gravel party the gravel bike in their lineup is the greville this bike is offered as five complete builds and there are even two e-bike options the gravel mixes features from the dogma which is their popular road bike but uses proper components for mixed terrain and like other penerilla bikes that i’ve seen they look really really sharp almost like futuristic when i picture pinnarello bikes i kind of picture if the batmobile was a bike they’ve got those really sleek lines aerodynamic looking and so yeah the gravel bike is really cool because it shares some of those same characteristics again not a lot of price info on their website but from what i gathered a complete build of this bike can be had starting around 4 200 euros or 4 700 and a frame set can be picked up for about 3 500. next brand on the list is tomasini or tomosini guys be easy with me on the pronunciation of these bikes and people it’s italian and i’m not from italy tomasini might be the least well-known brand on this list but it also might be the most unique the italian brand was started by giro tomosini and has been producing bicycles since 1957. tomosini is truly made in italy with 100 of production coming from the small shop in groseto italy the company began by producing exquisite steel road bikes known for exceptional quality performance and beautiful paint and finish today the brand offers three gravel bikes the fire gravel mock ti gravel and xfire gravel the fire gravel is built with a steel frame and has a starting price of 3 495 the mach ti gravel is made using titanium as the frame material and has a starting price tag of 5795 dollars for the frame set the xfire gravel has the performance of a high-end carbon frame but with the compliance only found in steel you can pick one of these frame sets up for four thousand six hundred ninety five dollars the next brand on the list is villier villier is an italian manufacturer of racing bicycles founded in 1906 by pietro dalmolin in italy the famous italian cyclist ferenzio magni rode villier bikes in the 1948 giro d’italia win as well as his 1949 and 1950 tour flanders wins marco pitani rode the 1997 tour de france on avelier today velia offers a wide range of gravel bikes the jaren is an aluminum frame bike with a starting price of 1 750 euros or around thousand dollars the ja roon is their steel frame gravel bike with a starting price point of two thousand four hundred and fifty euros or around twenty eight hundred dollars the jaina is a new carbon frame bike designed to perform well on dirt roads or single track and is also ready for adventure exploration and bike packing this bike has a starting price point of thirty six hundred euros or about four thousand dollars the rave is their gravel race bike this bike is at home on any road the bike starts at 8 300 euros or about 9 300 and last but not least on the list is bianchi bianchi is the world’s oldest bicycle manufacturing company in existence the company was founded in italy in 1885 and in addition to bicycles it produced motorcycles from 1897 to 1967. in the modern era bianchi has been associated with the giro d’italia and tour de france winners fusto kopi marco pantani and felice gamondi bianchi offers three gravel bikes the arcadex and pulso pro and impulso the arcade x was bianchi’s first gravel bike this bike is offered as three complete builds ranging from four thousand one hundred and seventy five dollars to sixty seven hundred dollars this is a true gravel bike with wide tire clearance the impulso and impulso pro are newer offerings from the brand and have rounder tubing and less tire clearance these are bikes made to go fast on any surface the impulso comes as an aluminum frame and one build option for 2 475 the impulso pro is also only offered as one build option but has a carbon frame and comes in at 4 600 all right guys thanks for checking out the video if you’ve got questions ask me and i’ll do my best to answer them if you want 1. Very good video! Traditional road bike manufacturers that now sell gravel bikes resembles how luxury European car makers now offer SUVs! They both could not afford to stick their noses in the air and ignore the popular trends.
