Franklin Andover is seven bos to Franklin is eight so 15 miles
that’s about right we’re not going quite going to end
right we’re going to Franklin it’s about 12 and a half miles there and then we’re turning around and coming back another 12 and 1/2 miles okay come on let’s go here’s the place to park that I spoke of route four is above we parked here once on River Road but it’s better to park at the Boscowan park and ride or on Commercial Street the trail surface is pretty much like this the whole way there is an elevation change on the way to Franklin it’s it’s slightly uphill and then when we turn around it’ll be downhill just slightly but the trail service is pretty much uniform the whole trail in our experience on this particular day it was hot on this day the real feel was 86° F you got shade nice i can feel the shade cool the coolness of it maybe I’m going to go behind you you get no shade on the map insert on the screen you can see at the very bottom there’s a silhouette of the elevation change uh and there is like a 200 foot change in elevation this is on the way to Franklin it goes up and then on the way back when we turn around it goes down there’s something pretty stinky right about here um a farm smell just so you know that was pretty bad smell i just I couldn’t talk or anything i said I went You think you like You think I like what i don’t I like the idea of camping i don’t think the tarmac would be nearly as uncomfortable out here pretty small i know the air temperature is 84 i know we’re going 12.2 well I also don’t have Oh wait oh that’s nice um the brand is 6 i don’t have the SRAM you know components that Yeah so that that’s another reason why I don’t have data points on this bike with this bike at this moment you’ll hear me talk about um how I don’t have data on the these bikes on the bike I’m riding um I’m I’m kind of gotten used to the new our new bikes uh that have SRAM and all the data that goes with power meter and uh with pairing with the phone and so forth um so these rubay are um they’re road bikes but and they have 28 mm tires but they’re not um made for rough surfaces this surface is pretty smooth um they do have a suspension in the front fork which helps out tremendously the audio that goes along with this video is pretty poor um so I I want to try to fill up this space with something so I’m going to talk about how we are not meant to be still all day and sitting on a couch is not optimal for our well-being um I really feel like we need to like find something find a way to do something active and um if you can’t do it right now then make a plan to do so whatever your abilities allow you to do um you should be doing it um and you’re listening here to this and watching the video so um you’re on the right path good job and just look at the path ahead on this video it’s just so beautiful there’s a place to park garish Depot here’s [Applause] [Applause] a map showing the garish depot parking it’s about 6 miles north of the Bascowan Park and Ride carry on the left we’re at mile 6.7 uh if you can get out um get out here on this path again this is the Northern Rail Trail um and we’re going from Buscalin to Franklin and back i hope to do uh the next section another time mile 11.71 we are in Franklin welcome to Franklin [Music] oh wow what’s this this says uh it looks to be the remnants of a railroad turntable and it’s a bit of a mystery why it’s here um turntables usually uh are a garage or a place to do repairs for locomotives um but there doesn’t appear to be uh space for the garage here because of this the landscape and the steep embankments around this turntable so they don’t know exactly why it existed here they have one we are going to turn around up ahead 9247 Seems like a good spot
i heard the waterfall this is the junction of the other rail it is Franklin um it says we went 20 12 and a half miles oh it feels like it was down uphill the other way this feels like a damn hill i think you’re happy to be turning around [Music] did you see the road um it was a we went over a bridge and there was a road underneath and it was all like stones those big stones the whole thing big stones

no big ones is very narrow like one car with maybe Yeah they were huge like um they were like a foot stick and Yeah what’s this sign said you want to go down there oh orphan New Hampshire orphan house [Music] it’s now military veterans place for veterans beautiful [Music] behind you passing I must say this is better than I figured it was going to be more like it’s really or that one yeah is that the other end of the one we did yeah we went somewhere we drove somewhere William that was terrible the one from King wasn’t so bad the one at the other end was like heaven oh here it is again yeah the fresh stone like if it’s really like stone dust is good i’m going to go faster the path surface is pretty uniformly smooth uh I recommend this for a anyone that has a gra gravel bike or a road bike that has um tires that are on the fatter side or that has suspension built into their bike this video has been brought to you by Live Free New Hampshire what’s that yeah oh is that that prison penguin pet might be it’s really nice for this it is i don’t know if you can have to have it i did
