even though we got a cycle lane from Sheffield Town Center to Rotherham Town Center via the canal they decided to provide another cycle lane from Rothham Town Center to Magna which will then be extended to the canal again but the thing is a lot the actual canal toe path from Darnold to Tinsel is not complete so rather than focusing on that element and getting that complete they haven’t and they’re focusing on this other element you can’t make it up so this other element from Magna to the canal is going to cost 3.5 million quid that’s October 2024 this will all be coming from South Yorkshire Merrill the driver of all this madness so here we’ve got the actual plan this is the big old melting shops for British Steel Rotherham Spear where they had six electric arc shops that’s the boundary of Sheffield and Rotherham so this cycle lane’s been extended all the way along here along Blackburn Meadows Way and then it’ll connect up with a canal just here so like I said they should have really focused on the canal path from Sheffield to Rotherham and got it fixed between Darnell and Tinsley cuz it can become a mud bath there unless that’s being done but I doubt it but it’s just more and more nonsense if you go on the cycle lane from Rothamtown Center to Magna it’s not great I tell you it needs cleaning on a regular basis and you never see anybody on it so that’s a quick update more madness more wasting your money yeah it’s coming from South Yorkshire but that’s coming from central government taxes

The cycle lane is full of glass, flint and debris from lorrys. Even though there isnt any steel works left, I've seen steel turnings, nails and screws littering it. If on a Saturday or Sunday, I've seen any road bikers on there, they have been on the road Tim. A total folly. You can either cycle alongside a Newall and Wright container juggernaut or cycle serenly along the canal Tim.
Good morning Tim hope you're well. Rain at last, bit fresher. Thanks for the information, have a good day 😊x
Maybe this money goes to friends of friends if you know what I mean! 🤔
They have to do something with the money from when the SY Mayoral Authority removed the free train travel from pensioners,a move not repeated in Manchester where travelling works for everyone. At least we can be proud that South Yorkshire started the war on pensioners continued by Starmer. And still they voted Labour.Doncaster gave us Milliband don't forget.
Cyclists are in a very small minority but all this funding and disruption on roads doesn't make sense.
More money they may as well have burnt . Ffs
Are they mad? 3.5 million quid. I think my cats could spend that money on something more useful.
