hey everyone G loves trains here i’m off to Wit Church today which Wit Church well all of them actually so when I think of Wit Church I think of the one in Shropshire not that I’ve ever been there before but I found out there’s three stations in the UK called Wit Church and I thought it would be fun to see if I could try and visit all three of them in one day hopefully this goes to plan let’s go get to wit church number one [Music] okay so I am starting off the trip by riding from Manchester to Wit Church in Shropshire and uh this 197 here well there are actually two joined up a five coacher I’m pleasantly surprised to see um it will take me directly to Wit Church so yeah I’ll be hopping on here shortly and I am very excited for this trip you know I’ve actually had this planned for thereabouts 2 years now it really has been a long time coming i basically have just been waiting until I was able to travel on an allline rover i thought with it being a bigger trip it would make more sense to uh to ride on that ticket so yeah it’s actually the first day I’m using the ticket now and I’ve come straight out to visit the wit churches our next station call will be Stockport in approximately 8 minutes time and we’re off i’ve got just under an hour on this train now and do you know what I’ve done this morning as well i went and bought myself a meal deal and I must have left it in the shop i’ve never done that before that is a first but uh yeah I think there’s some shops at Wit Church so I’ll go and get myself another one [Music] we’re just leaving Crew now and we’re about to enter on to the Welsh marches line [Music] and here I am at the Shropshire Wit Church got the birds chirping away at the moment and the station is run by Transport for Wales it’s got two pretty long platforms and I’ve got a couple of hours to spend here now it is a lovely day out today so I’m gonna go have a walk around the place hey look there’s a poster up here walks around with church this is handy so stations here i was actually going to walk to Jubilee Park and then onto the shops Union Canal there is this walk here walk number nine like a big circular walk around h do I have time to do that witch is the only town in Shropshire on an original Roman site i just went and rebought the food I bought from Tesco earlier on and I made sure to put it in me bag this time but I am now just cutting through Jubilee Park i am going to head for the canal but you know what it’s a lovely looking park this could actually just spend some time chilling out here [Music] oh a bit of a plant has just gone right into my eye but I’ve found the flowing water any place I visit I always find the flowing water i absolutely love it you know what I’m like but I’m going to have a little walk along here now this is the branch of the Shroptshire Union Canal going to turn right here okay so that walking route number nine that I saw on the map before it is uh a longish route that one so I am going to follow it a little bit up to Grimley Brookke but then I’m going to come off the canal and head back towards the station my own way just cuz don’t want to risk missing the train oh how time flies by e I’m now running for the train and I’ve made it back to the station in time for me next train i was getting a bit panicked then thinking what have I done here i’ve gone venturing off and melonsed up the whole vlog but nah it’s all right the train is actually also 10 minutes delayed so didn’t even need to run but yeah I am off to the second wit church now it’s the one in Cardiff and I am going to be catching the 1028 service i’ll be riding all the way down to Cardiff and uh it will take over two hours to get to Cardiff Central oh it needs to cool off a bit we will be traveling to Fishard Harour ah there we go a few people got off the train at Shoesbury as the announcement calls this station um I was hoping they would do because I wanted to squid over to the other side of the train i do like sitting on the right hand side when I travel down to Cardiff the next stop is Cardiff Central and I was kind of hoping that this train would be on time arriving into Cardiff so that I could do a really quick change onto a Coron service just to get to the next Wit Church uh a little bit sooner but this train is running about 7 minutes delayed at the moment so yeah don’t think I’m going to be able to do that now we are now approaching Cardiff Central [Music] i’ll head over to platform 6 as quick as I can but I’m pretty sure I’ve missed that train also it doesn’t help that we pulled in right at the end of platform 4 yeah I’ve missed that train but hey well I’ll just get the one I’ve actually written down to get and to be honest it was a win-win either way either get to Wit Church a bit sooner or spend half an hour here in Cardiff your favorite place in the whole wide world and do you know what kind of now feels like I’m on holiday in Cardiff it always does when I step off the train here and I hear the Welsh announcements also I’ll tell you something i’ve just noticed from crossing over from platform 4 to platform 6 there doesn’t seem to be a platform 5 here how have I not noticed that unless I’m just missing it but no it doesn’t look like there’s a platform 5 here right I’m on the 150 now i’ve got just over 15 minutes on here [Music] [Music] i’m now at wit church number two just like the first one it is operated by Transport for Wales and it’s got just the one platform now i don’t have too long to spend here i’ve got just 9 minutes i basically just waiting for that 150 to come back down from Coron yeah that’s why I was kind of aiming to get on an earlier train just so that I could try and squeeze in a little walk somewhere but to be fair the thing that I would have walked to was the park that we just passed by on the train and uh it looked more like a field than a park anyways but yeah I might just pop and have a look at the outside of the station and then come straight back in yeah that’s that’s as far as I’m going to go i’m not risking missing this train ooh there’s a little path here tell you what I’ve got an idea [Music] and just like that I’m back in the station there we are i’ve done something here at Witchurch number two a circular walk and it took under a minute and now I’m off to the third and final Wit Church station i’ve got to ride three more trains starting with this one back to Cardiff Central i always read that station name as Ryena i’m back at Cardiff Central now and I’ve just crossed over to platform one ready for my next train it is the 1430 GWR service that I’m waiting on i’ve got just over two hours on this 158 now I’m off to Salsbury where I’ll be doing the last change over of the trip so we are just making our way along the South Wales mainline and we are about to enter into the seven tunnel and we are passing by Piling me and Cyber Trades had a sevenhour wait at that station last year that was a fun day that one and today is a fun day as well we’re reversing back out at Bristol Temple Needs oh I’m feeling very relaxed after that ride but I’m now here at Salsbury i have been here once before many years ago yeah it’s great to be back even if it is only for a 15minute change over but I have now got about half an hour’s worth of a ride along the West of England line left until I get to Wit Church and I’m pretty sure my next train is already pulled in here on platform 2 it’s one of Southwestern’s Railways class 159s we’re just waiting for it to be coupled up to another unit that we can get on do you know what i could happily stay on this 159 for a lot longer than just half an hour the seats are very comfy on here [Music] and I’m now here at the third and final wit church it’s the one in Hampshire it’s run by Southwestern Railway and it’s got two platforms i would say from what I’ve seen today that this is the busiest of the Witch Church stations but yeah I’m gonna go get myself out the station now and find some flowing water and here’s the river test it’s very clear that water you can see the fish swimming around in it i’ll go see if I can get down by the side of the river somehow [Music] well it’s not exactly the best view of the water ah here we are i’ve visited all three of the Wit Church stations today and everything has gone to plan yeah it’s been great finally getting to make this vlog and that first wit church it’s on my brain you know I got carried away with the walk there and yeah it does seem a lovely place to do some walking so you never know i may end up back there in the future all the walks of Wit Church eat i have now got to go and get myself back up north it’s going to take several hours thank you very much for watching everyone bye

  1. Great Whitchurch Station bash G a fantastic challenge you do find some very pleasant journeys to do brilliant Vblog thanks for sharing with us all as ever 👍 🤗

  2. Thanks for another great video, really enjoyed it. Something to note is that Whitchurch station Wales is called 'Yr Eglwys Newydd', which means 'New Church', rather than white church. Something lost in translation there.

  3. Super vlog again. Your smiling face and "Mancunian" accent adds to the enjoyment. Your navigation and timing is to be admired…

  4. Of course the 4th station serving a Whitchurch is Llandaff North for Whitchurch which is the other side of Whitchurch village in North Cardiff..I well remember catching steam trains here in the late 50's, early 60's
