This is Tadej Pogacar, the rider who is potentially on route to becoming the greatest cyclist of all time to win the 2025 tour of France. Though he’ll need to conquer climbs where he’s previously faltered beat riders who have got the better of him on more than one occasion, and of course avoid his team capitulating around him like they kind of did at the Giro. Well, whether he’s ready or not, the biggest cycling race in the world is here, and here is everything that you need to know about it. The Tour of France 2025 begins on Saturday, the 5th of July, and this year marks the hundred and 12th edition of the flagship race. This is also the first time that the race has been raced entirely in France in five years. This year it really is gonna be the tour to France. We’ll take a look at the 21 stage route, including some key stages in just a minute. But first, make sure you are subscribed to chow and let’s take a look at the favorites. So the yellow jersey, the 2025 tour has been dubbed as one for the climbers, so it’s unsurprising that all the favorites are the light guys. We’ll get onto the other Jersey contenders later on as the title of this video suggests Reigning Champion and Current World Champion Ade Pcha comes into the 2025 edition as hot favorite off the back of a absolutely dominant display at the Criterium DNE bar time trial and an unusual but impressive spring of classics races. His main rival for the yellow Jersey will surely be Jonas Fgo, a SMA Lisa Bike, not Jumbo sma. And there’s plenty of climbs on the route where VGO has come out on top. In the past, of course, there’s more than just the jersey on the line. There’s also a whole heap of prize money up for grabs for winning the 2023 edition of the race. Jonas vgo collected 535,000 Euros are sum, which is generally shared among the team’s riders and staff. Also gunning for the yellow Jersey will be Remco Pol. He finished third and claimed the best Young riders Jersey in his Tour de France debut last year and has publicly stated that his aim is to compete with Ving, GGO and cia. This year, the 2022 Veta champion will eye taking the yellow Jersey on stage five’s flat individual time trial and is another strong contender for a podium place. But after a Rocky DoveNet performance, anything more than that seems like stretch Primo’s. Rod Lich is back for another stab at the trophy that has so far alluded him, but Red Bull Bore Han Grow’s best chances may lie with teammate Florian Lipitz who has burst onto the scene in well absolutely tremendous form, certainly expect him to be going for the White Jersey at the very least. Other riders to look out for include PGA’s teammate Al Meda who starts The Racers, the most successful stage racer of 2025. Ben O’Connor of Jayco o Lula, Tobias Harlan Johanson riding For Uno X and Matthew Jorgenson. Of course, let us know any of your dark horses or predictions in the comments below. Jasper Phillipson of SSON Kerig and Bin Gamay of in Marche Wone, they stard last year each winning three stages, a piece and G goodbye, making history as the first black African to win a tour de France stage. The Eritrean won the Green Jersey becoming the first African to win any jersey at the tour and his ability on punchy sprint finishes could see him ride into the history books once again this year. He certainly my pick for the green jersey in our into office predictions as I think that Phillipson will probably have been relegated from a few sprints by the end of the three weeks cameraman, ed agrees. Other sprinters likely to challenge for stage wins include Dylan Grogan, Tim Melia, and Jonathan Milan. As for the White Jersey, we’ve already touched on some of the contenders, which has worked out in the same way as the yellow with a cumulative time of all 21 stages counting minus any bonus seconds from podium finishes on summit finishes. Only riders under the age of 26 are eligible for the jersey and it looks set to be a battle between Remco Pol and Florian Lipitz. Either way, it is quite likely that specialized will be custom painting an S eight frame by the end of the tour. The polka dot jersey is awarded based on points accrued atop each categorized climb and is probably the hardest jersey to predict. That said, with five summit finishes, the safe money would probably be on one of the GC favorites. Fingers crossed, we do get a good battle though. Maybe someone such as Carpas will target this rather than going for the overall right, that’s the favorites, but what are they up against? Well, before we get into our root analysis, here’s how to watch the thing for UK viewers. The 2025 Tour de France marks the end of an era. It’s the last edition to be shown on free to Air TV this July. You can catch every stage live on ITV four, but from 2026, coverage will move behind a paywall. You can also get it on TNT Sports and Discovery plus offering subscriptions at 30 pounds 99 PA month in the us. You can watch the tour on NBC and Peacock with plans starting from seven point 99. That’s dollars. Canadian fans can stream the race via flow bikes, which holds exclusive rights. But if you are traveling or living abroad, then you can use A VPN to access your local stream from anywhere. Now, our office Buddies, tech Radar and Tom’s guide both rate nor VPN as the best choice for streaming sports. And what’s better is that we’ve secured an exclusive nor VPN deal that offers 76% off four months free and a free Amazon gift card. But you, you do have to hurry because this offer won’t last long. So there’s a link below to claim it now. We’ll be sure to add the link in both the description and as a pinned comment, as usual, the 2025 Tour de France takes place over 23 days. With 21 of them being race days. The riders get two whole days of resting the lucky sods, which usually fall on the second and third Monday of the race this year. However, it is a bit different and they get the first rest day, a day later on the second Tuesday of racing to ensure that they are racing on BA still. Day road stages in the torque can range from anything from a hundred K to something approaching 250 K sometimes more this year. The shortest road stage is stage 21 at 120 K from, oh, here we go. My French pronunciation is gonna mon Laville Mons Laville to Paris. It goes to Paris with the longest coming nice and early 212 K on stage two. The race is somewhat a return to form well with it being all raced in France and the finish being on the CHO after a hiatus last year due to some event called the Olympics. The race begins in Lil in the north. That’s where we’ll be trying to spot any new tech before heading west through Normandy and Brittany, and taking an anti-clockwise route to the far south before heading back to its traditional finish line in Paris via the Out and Azure Mountains in 2025. The tour has two individual time trials for the riders to tackle. The first is one for specialists against the clock, 33 kilometers on stage five, starting and finishing in Kahan. The second is just 11 kilometers, but follows an intriguing mountainous route. Now, if Evan Poll doesn’t win the first one, then he’s sure to be disappointed as it really does look up his street. But it’s the second shorter time trial that’s most likely to shake up the gc. Now, the Mountain Time trial becomes somewhat of a specialism for a certain Danish rider and he’s used these to press home his advantage in previous additions. That said, Cher is obviously no slouch who can forget him ripping up the 2020 time trial where he just grabbed the title from prima gl and in quite some fashion. To be honest, the 2025 edition will be hilly from the beginning, but there’s six real days that can be classified as properly mountainous stage 10, but still day will be the first real true test of the GC favorites. Although the way they’re racing at the moment, there might be some surprises before then. And then stage 18 will likely be the hardest day for the riders as it features no less than 5,500 meters of climbing, more than any stage ever to make things even more appetizing. It finishes on the colder LA lows, which you might remember from where Pcha uttered, I’m gone, I’m dead. That was in 2023. As Vgo put minutes into him, there is unfinished Business there for the Slovenian then, but his Danish rivals knows that he can beat him there at high altitude in the Alps. It really is gonna be a mouthwatering battle. Looking at their 2025 form, it would be easy to think that CIA has all the cards up his sleeve, a phenomenal team around him. Race wins galore, but I wouldn’t write off Jonas’s Vgo just yet. He has, we Vanna for a start who is instrumental in Simon Yates’s Giro Win and the Root looks like somewhat of a greatest hits album of CIA’s nightmares. The TER cam, the Colder Laos, the Uphill tt. They’re all places where VGO Bingo has beaten the Slovenian before who says he can’t do it again. One thing that is for short, with 23 teams, 184 riders, 3,336 kilometers to ride and four mountain ranges. The next three weeks are shorter. Write some stories, let us know any of your predictions down below and look out for lots more. Tour De France content on the Cycling weekly channel and Instagram soon.

Sad that the Mountain TT seems to be quite easy compared to ex. the Alpe d'Huez in 2004, but it is relevant to see the results. Pogi beats Vingegaard with acceleration and Vingegaard beats Pogacar with long susteained speed. In especially 2023 whoever had the otherone in his wheel lost on the day, adn in 2024 Vingegaard just could not keep up with accelerations out of hair pin turns where Pogacer would win 2-3 bike lengths, which was enough to make it harder.
It is a route that should favor Vingegaard late in the race. Day 18 and 19 are ripe for changing things – imagine doing 5450 meter vertical and then starting the next morning with 4550meters – 10000 meters in two days without particular rest in between. Either Jonas or Pogi will break if it is still within a few minutes!
My money is on Skjelmose
Skjelmose from Liedl-Trek. He's not going to win, but he has a shot of a top 3.
carapatz is out, i see strong chance that pogi will take this shirt also
4:40 carapaz is out due to illness
Almeida will work for Pogacar, but at the moment he is in the top three or four of the best stage riders on the World Tour.
So, pay attention, because if Almeida gets the chance, he will attack the podium for the UAE after Pogacar.
CORRECTION!!! There have not been 'plenty of times' where Jonas has bettered Tadej in the TDF – the facts contradict your statement, albeit the 'few times' he did were decisive. Since 2021 Tadej and Jonas have contested 84 stages of the TDF – 84 times head-to-head – in those 84 stages there have only been '4 occasions' where Jonas has gained actual time [not time bonuses] on Tadej, now 2 & 3 years ago – in those same 84 stages Tadej has gained actual time on Jonas on 20 occasions – meaning that in 24% of all TDF stages they've contested Tadej has gained time on Jonas – that's a staggering statistic – in those same 84 stages Tadej leads Jonas 14-4 in stage wins – all things being equal Jonas won't better today's Tadej unless he can rack up multiple stage wins….maybe he will but it will be a departure from past Visma tactics, plus UAE are now Visma's equal.
Carapaz announced he is out 2 days ago, and now he say he might be the Polka Jersey? Please, do your homework!
It's not the most climbing for any stage ever. It's up there, but there are quite a few, with quite a lot more climbing.
1983, stage Bourg d'Oisans-Morzine – 7200m
1992, stage Saint Gervais-Sestriere – 6500m
1996, stage Argeles Gazost-Pamplona – 6000m
To name a few!
I use Peacock and it's easily worth the small monthly fee for the outstanding coverage of not only the TDF but a lot of other races, one day classics, short number stage and grand tours..
Pogacar is the most doped rider since Armstrong……
Love these shorter videos! Really diggin the new presenter!! Please keep up the excellent work!
There needs to be a real climbing trikot specialist again. It was always so entertaining to see Richard Virenque in the groups in every single climb stage. Since he is gone the value of this jersey only declined because it was kind of a byproduct of the yellow jersey most of the times.
No mention of skjelmose?😢
This year’s Tour has the strongest firepower I’ve ever seen. It’s going to be great!!
Pogi the dopi 🎉
Nordvpn link does not work.
Skjelmose maybe an outsider – I have him in top 6-7 if he gets the right support from Lidl.
Correction: Froome is the first African born/citizen to win a jersey on any tour.
Froome represented Kenya in 2006 Commonwealth Games.
As an Austrian I have to mention Felix Gall!
I feel like Van der Poel could win the green jersey this year. The “sprint stages” this year are perfectly suited for his style
Run by Gianetti, dirty as hell…..
Carapaz forfait vous ne le savez pas ? Please laissez le Tour aux français Ok
So stupid this Guy And frenchies??
If you mention Ben O’Connor you need to mention Felix Gall, wo was the stronger one two years ago at tdf, as well as the stronger one this years tour de suisse
Bamm! Florian.. surprise, surprise
Pogacar is blown up to a status of invincebility. Sometimes you get the impression that the TDF will just be another walk in the park for him. Come on, he is human and he has actually cracked before. Visma will do just about everything they can to isolate him in the high mountains and if they succeed, he'll be in trouble. Of course he must be counted as one of the favourites for the overall win, but I´m not sure he will be at the top of the podium in Paris.
your prononciation for Mantes la Ville is perfect 👍
All my favourite climbs and some legendary extra +… Can't imagine better TDF! Man it's gonna be fun!!! ❤🔥
Yawn, they're all doping anyways. Tour de Dope. Is now, and always has been
A route from Pog’s dreams actually. He’s been waiting for Ventoux, Hautacam and especially Loze since 2023 to execute his revenge.
Wasn't chris frome african
Nope, he will ride away from everyone.
