Just wanted to thank this community for help solving a neverending list of issues as I was putting together my first bike.
Originally bought a frame with (what I later found out) dead and buried TRP brake mounts so now I have 2.5 sets of direct mount brakes. Since it was an unbranded frame I sanded and repainted it and I loved the look but had to give up on it.
Bought a Cervelo P3 (c. 2007) and swapped all the parts. This time almost no issues with brakes (needed a longer nut for the front and bent the cable beyond recognition on the rear and had to start over).
It's now 98% complete – just waiting for the blip mounts so they don't pop off mid-ride.
