I'm struggling which gravel bike to choose from between Canyon Grail CF SL 7 AXS and Cube Nuroad C:62 EX (link to comparison), as my first gravel bike.

Both these bikes match my most important criteria:

  1. Electric shifter
  2. Light carbon frame
  3. Drop bars
  4. Hydraulic brakes
  5. Tubeless ready tires
  6. Good for both for 1-day rides and for bikepacking (considering I can add fork mounts to the Canyon)

I'd say my fitness level is good.

It would be my first gravel bike, so I'm probably an amateur, but not a complete beginner, as I sometimes ride road/gravel on a very cheap and heavy no-name city bike (longest ride 70km).

I'd like to use the bike for gravel/road rides ~100km (number which could possibly increase in the future), and for bikepacking (maybe also ~100km per day).

I understand that the Cube has slightly better components, and also bigger rear sprockets (52t on Cube vs 44t on Canyon). Cube's gear ratio could be a considerable advantage in the beginning, however this advantage might fade in time as I become better.

I'm not planning to buy another gravel bike as I become better, so I want to also have a bike that I'll like in a few years from now.

I understand that the Canyon is more racy, although I'm struggling to really understand whether "racy" is better for my needs, but it does seems that some people online prefer more racy bikes once they get better.

I unfortunately don't have the option to test them before I buy them.

Any insights, personal experiences, or advice on these two bikes would be hugely appreciated!
