[Music] 50 Sports in 50 weeks brings us to garish Parton kirkin we’re here for the FIS Ski Jumping championships on New Year’s Eve because this is Ski Jumping week [Music] [Applause] as the crowds packed in to see their Heroes saw we caught up with one of the greats austrias Andreas goldberger a triple world champion who in retirement still jumps at every opportunity talking to him it was easy to see why he loves his sport if you were going to try to encourage other kids to start Ski Jumping what would you say how would you explain it to them and how would you sell it to them yeah because it’s it’s everyone loves watch a bird you want to fly so you can fly without a special mechine or technique you know just just nature you need just your body and skis maybe you want to be more of something else again just find your thing we found 50 different ways to keep active and have fun all you’ve got to do is find one because it’s your body now I think it’s time that we give you guys a little bit of activity let the gy pon kirkin 1936 the seed of the Winter Olympics 21 days ago there were 20,000 fans here screaming for the FIA s Ski Jumping World Championships today it’s very quiet all you’ll hear are three screaming voices the Browns as we try ski jumping for the first time I’m not sure if Pink’s my color it’s going to work I think it’ll help me fly first we had to get used to our long floppy skis did you flip that open now you’re going clean that a bit when you’re down here then you come to a point where you have to jump just jump yeah jump out extended legs exactly one more time then halfway up the jump to try the landing strip a little more forward feel comfortable just stay like this there you go all good let me go let me go there you go have a nice ride stra yeah now our coach faan is going to take us up to the top of the jump itself uh I can’t tell you how uh daunting that concept is I know all the ski jumpers out there are thinking ah it’s easy but for the rest of us us Mortals this is quite a [Music] challenge ladies and gentlemen that was amazing my first ever ski jump sitting up the top there I tell you what it takes takes a lot of guts to push off that board for the very first time well did for me anyway D that that was fun that was fun I got to do it again okay Daddy’s jumped but what about Mom Mom just JP go your legs in the air that’s all you need yes well I didn’t want to crash though yeah I flew for a brief moment there you go go pink all right the grown-ups have had their fun now it’s Ben’s turn yeah yeah oh it was fun and scary a little bit and did you get up in the air yeah and did you land yes did you crash no hey well done mate congratulations they did a quite good job I mean it’s for the very first time they learned Ski Jumping within an hour and a half that’s amazing I didn’t even think the first time when I got a call that they want to try it that I will see any hosy jump Ski Jumping Hill ever in my life now I saw a man and a woman which is really amazing and that was good a big thank you to the pon Ken ski club and to the Head trainer faban Evan Hawk also to Tony sellak who is our guide at the FIS 2015 Ski Jumping World Cup yeah
