This was a last-minute decision, as our flight back to Singapore was scheduled for the following evening.
The trip to Chamonix was completely unplanned—I just went for it, figuring if nothing worked out, I’d simply have wasted a bit of time.
Thankfully, it turned into a memorable mountain biking experience in Le Tour Village.
I traveled solo from Geneva, Switzerland to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France, using my Eurail Pass for all train and bus transport.
I rented a mountain bike from Slash Chamonix, about a 10-minute walk from the Chamonix Train Station, for €90 a day.
From there, I took a train to Montroc, hiked up to Le Tour Village, and bought a €29 day pass for the gondola and chair lift to access the trailhead.
By the end of the day, I made my way back to Switzerland—tired, but glad I took the chance.

We never know what was left in the future. If only someone could have gotten there sooner. They had thoughts and feelings, a few dreams, a few things they wanted to go see.
