Endometrium
The tissue that surrounds the inside of uterus. This is where the blood comes from during a menstrual period.

Uterus
The hollow, pear-shaped organ located in the lower part of a woman’s stomach, between the bladder and the rectum. This is where a baby grows during pregnancy.

Ovaries

Cervix
The lower, narrow part of the uterus located between the bladder and the rectum. The cervix forms a passage from the vagina to the uterus. This opening gets larger during pregnancy for a baby to come out of the uterus.

Vagina
The tunnel-like structure that connects the cervix (the opening of the uterus) and the vulva (the external genitalia). This structure allows fluid to pass out of the body during menstrual periods. It is also called the “birth canal.”

Vulva
The part of the female genital organs that is located outside the body and leads to the other areas in the female anatomy. It is located between the urethra (where urine comes out) and the rectum (where stool comes out).
