Hello fellow travelers, great to have you back. If, like us, you often travel by bike, this video will certainly be of interest to you, because today we are testing a city bike under €1000, which is available in brown and gray. The company Touroll kindly provided us with the MA2 model for this purpose. Let’s start with the unboxing and first unpack the bike. The Touroll MA2 will arrive in a few days via freight forwarder in a sturdy transport box. Everything is beautifully packaged and secured, and everything stays in its place. First, we open the enclosed accessories box. It contains two pedals … a multi-tool … a quick-release front axle … two open-end wrenches … assembly instructions and the power adapter for charging the bike battery. Next, we remove the battery from the box and set it aside for the time being. As you can see, everything is very well secured and carefully wrapped to prevent scratches. For the next few minutes, the side cutters will be your most important tool. Piece by piece, we remove the bike’s protective coverings. And there the MA2 stands in all its glory, awaiting final assembly. The included tools make a very high-quality impression, so we decide to complete the rest of the assembly exclusively using the on-board tool kit. The assembly instructions are easy to understand and, among other things, are in German. We start by fitting the handlebars. We open the box with the battery and check that the bike is in perfect, visual condition. Everything is fine. Then we turn the bike over to fit the front wheel. Make sure the brake disc is positioned between the brake shoes. Now insert the included front axle and tighten it. It sits and runs smoothly. Next, we fit the pedals, ensuring the left and right pedals are positioned correctly. The left pedal can be identified, among other things, by the grooves in the nut. Note: Left-hand thread. Now the Touroll MA2 can stand on its tires and its own stand. It already looks quite nice. We loosen the screws on the fork to attach the front mudguard. Then tighten them again. The front LED light is attached at the same time using the top screw. Then plug in the connector for the front light and adjust the saddle to the correct position using the quick release. And after installing the battery and securing it against theft, the bike is ready to go. Great, now the MA2 is ready to cover up to 100 km with its fully charged battery. A 7-speed Shimano gear system and front derailleur ensure smooth shifting in any situation. Hydraulic disc brakes with an outer diameter of 160 mm ensure fast and reliable deceleration at the front and rear. The side stand appears robust and the luggage rack leaves nothing to be desired with a load capacity of 25 kg. The suspension fork offers 80 mm of travel and has a lock. The battery has a power capacity of 468 Wh. The mid-drive motor has a maximum output torque of 70 Nm and the saddle is padded. The handlebars are ergonomically shaped and the handlebar stem can be individually adjusted by 90 degrees. The Touroll is switched on by holding down the upper button next to the easy-to-read 1.8″ LCD screen for about 2 seconds. The middle button allows you to set the 5 levels, each of which differs by 3 km/h. The lower button decreases the speed accordingly. You turn the light on by holding the middle button for about 2 seconds. Holding the middle button down again turns the light off. Holding down the upper button switches the entire bike off. Now let’s get to the test ride of the Touroll MA2. The 250W mid-drive motor does a great job, and with its maximum torque of 70 Nm, inclines are effortless. A built-in torque sensor ensures responsive, smooth power transmission with every pedal stroke. The motor and crankset are seamlessly integrated into the frame to keep the center of gravity low, improving overall balance, control, and riding stability. The hydraulic disc brakes shorten the braking distance by 30% and ensure precise and consistent braking on every ride. A long press on the minus button activates walk mode, which, if held down, makes it child’s play to move uphill. The manufacturer recommends a height between 1.60 and 1.95 m for the MA2. For comparison, our model in the video is 1.78 m tall. Let’s recap: The Touroll MA2 is a city e-bike that offers excellent value for money. The 90-degree adjustable handlebar head helps ensure a comfortable position. The 1.8″ LCD display is easy to read and intuitive to use. The Shimano 7-speed gear system enables seamless and smooth shifting for effortless and efficient riding. The robust luggage rack can support a maximum of 25 kg, guaranteeing sufficient reserves for long bike rides. Equipped with a 250-watt mid-drive motor and a torque of 70 Nm, it offers powerful assistance, especially when starting off and on inclines. The removable battery allows for easy charging with the included charger. The lightly padded saddle is suitable for riders of average build. The combination of a torque sensor and five assistance levels ensures a natural riding feel. Hydraulic disc brakes shorten the stopping distance by 30% and ensure precise and consistent braking. The front and rear lights, certified according to the German StVZO (German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations), ensure visibility and safety. Let’s sum up. The Touroll MA 2 city bike is available on the German market for under €1,000. € and is an attractive package for commuters and leisure riders. In everyday life, the Touroll MA2 proves to be a reliable companion. The powerful 250-watt mid-drive motor with 70 Nm of torque ensures swift acceleration from traffic lights and easily masters bridges or gentle inclines. Thanks to the torque sensor, the assistance feels very natural. The hydraulic disc brakes engage reliably even in wet conditions, which is a real safety plus in city traffic. The 7-speed Shimano gear system is perfectly adequate for urban routes, and the lockable suspension fork effortlessly absorbs curbs and cobblestones. With a realistic range of 50–80 km, depending on riding style, the MA2 is well-equipped for daily commutes to work or shopping. There are slight deductions in weight – at over 24 kg, it is no lightweight, but that is typical in this price range with a mid-drive motor and full equipment. However, it scores points with practical details such as mudguards, a luggage rack, StVZO-compliant lighting and a removable battery. If you’d like to call the Touroll MA 2 your own, please use my link in the video description to order. And if you enjoyed this video, I’d really appreciate a like, a kind comment, and, above all, a subscription. It doesn’t cost anything. I’m glad you watched until the end, and see you soon. Yours, Micha.
