I have a 2020 Salsa Rustler with the Shimano SLX derailleur. I have been having issues with extremely unreliable shifting. The derailleur hanger is flat as a granite countertop, the cable is fresh, and I’ve fiddled with its tension to try to get it to shift as best as possible, but I still have regular ghost shifting and delayed shifts.

One thing I noticed while watching one of many troubleshooting tutorials is that there is an indicator on the inside of the derailleur that shows where the B gap should be set. Essentially it just has to be lined up with the largest cog (12:18 in the linked video). When I try to adjust it to that position I’m not able to because the screw doesn’t engage yet and the b gap remains too large.

Sorry if I didn’t do the best job of explaining it. Essentially, does anyone think that there’s a way to fix this problem?
