Kid joined MTB team and I don't know anything about mountain bikes. I thought this one that we got for $375 was a good deal. Thanks to the posts and comments on this and other subs that helped me sort through the various bikes I saw.
It needed a new chain, some break work, and a bolt for the derailleur. The lockout doesn't work, but the bike shop advised that it was not worth fixing given its intended use.
