Super stoked on this bike.

I got it as an original 1991 Trek 1200 about 8 years ago and slowly turned it first into a gentle cruiser/commuter with an upright bar setup on the original downtube shifter system.

Last year, I decided to make a retro-mod version of it with full dura ace 7800 drivetrain (sans cranks) to really get more out of it. I added a carbon compact aero bar, set up a carbon fizik saddle and stem, and some carbon bottle cages to shave some badly needed ounces.

But today, I was able to add these Zipp 404s, one of my dream wheels, to really set it off.

It rides great, allows me to run 28s with the wider wheel, and makes fun future noise when braking on the carbon pads.

I can’t imagine doing anything particularly different to this bike as it’s still around 20.4lbs, but it is a great bike for a cruise on nice roads. And it’s fun to look at, too.
