North of Tyne Mayor, Jamie Driscoll has met with cycling groups to discuss ways to get more of us out of our cars and onto two wheels, especially on the school run. It hinges on our ability to make it easier and safer for cyclists through improvements to safety measures.

we all want a better transport system part of that is cycling is walking is getting around without a car not everyone has access to a car so I’ve just been talking to active travel England um bike for health cycling minds and sustrans about how we can really make a difference here things like how do we find a way to get kids cycling to school safely as a parent when my boys were young there’s a lot of roads I wouldn’t have wanted them cycling on but there are practical solutions to this and it comes down to integrating it fully into the public transport system
