Leaving the city of Berehove, Ukraine, I cycled south-east for approximately 43 kilometers before reaching the Ukrainian/Romanian border. I was greeted by two tall Ukrainian soldiers dressed in head to toe camouflage and each sporting two impressive guns.
“No bicycles allowed.” The two guards told me. “You must go back! Can’t cross here on bicycle.”
But I didn’t want to pedal back the way I had just come and risk being told the same exact thing by soldiers at a different border crossing.
So, what did I do? Well… you’ll have to watch and see what happened!
