Château de Chenonceau sits beautifully above the Cher River, surrounded by fancy gardens. Originally from the 11th century, its famous arched bridge was added by Diane de Poitiers in the 16th century. After King Henry II’s death, Catherine de’ Medici turned it into her favorite spot, dazzling guests with grand parties and the first fireworks in France! Though it was damaged during WWII, the Menier family restored it in 1951, bringing it back to its former glory.
