The Perfect Cyclist’s Day: Dawn to Dusk Adventure 🚴♂️🌅
Imagine waking before sunrise, when the world is still and the road is yours alone. We rolled out on our bikes, rode our bikes to the starting point of EuroVelo 1 – Rota da Costa Atlântica, then pedaled along the stunning Atlantic coastline as morning light danced on the waves.
After conquering the official 47 km route, we treated ourselves to a quick coffee break at the finish, recharged our legs, and kept riding—gliding down the Figueira da Foz ocean promenade, with the sea breeze urging every turn of the pedals.
Next, the path led us along the tranquil Mondego River, where the gentle current and riverside greenery offered a welcome change of pace. Finally, we climbed to the Vila Verde viewpoint, where a sweeping panorama unfolded: the winding river below, young rice fields in neat rows, and the rolling coastal hills of Portugal stretching into the distance.
This ride blends the freedom of a sunrise departure, the power of the ocean, and the serenity of river valleys—truly a dream day for any cyclist!
