Critérium Du Dauphiné Just REVEALED The Tour De France WINNER
Critérium Du Dauphiné has ended, and the excitement of seeing the big 3 race together in a preparation race for the Tour de France was more than justified. We’ve been hit with so many unexpected scenarios during the 8 stages that many are still in muddy waters when it comes to predicting how the Tour de France will end. However, looking at the performances of those riders, their numbers, and the overall peloton control, the Dauphiné might have revealed the winner of the Tour de France already, and the upcoming weeks won’t be enough for the others to catch up. So, is the Tour winner really clear already, and how likely will the other riders make any significant progress in the upcoming weeks?

criterium dudane has ended and the excitement of seeing the big three race together in a preparation race for the tour to France was more than justified we’ve been hit with so many unexpected scenarios during the eight stages that many are still in muddy waters when it comes to predicting how the tour to France will end however looking at the performances of those riders their numbers and the overall pelaton control the doofine might have revealed the winner of the tour to France already and the upcoming weeks won’t be enough for the others to catch up so is the tour winner really clear already and how likely will the other riders make any significant progress in the upcoming weeks see figuring out what the final pre-our tuneup revealed about the top GC contenders takes a bit of reading between the lines the fact that Tarde Pagacha won the Criterium Dud isn’t even a surprise but how he won it in fact is first he claimed the opening stage with a sprint victory after a late breakaway which was unexpected already then came a puzzling time trial performance that saw him lose nearly a minute and got everyone thinking he might be done for but just three stages later the world champion flipped the script winning the GC by a minute and putting almost 5 minutes into Remco Evanole who placed third at last year’s Tour to France if you haven’t been following the Dofane you might think that’s a bit weird and I don’t blame you so how did all this happen well let’s begin at the start with stage one that set the tone for the rest of the week jonas Vingigore launched an attack over the top of the final climb sparking a four-man move with Pagacha Santiago Bitrago and Matio Vanderpool remco Evanapul soon bridged across forming a five-man leading group that hit the final kilometer just seconds ahead of the Chasing Pelaton already the fact that Vingagore attacked at the top of the climb is a bit unheard of but let’s keep going mvdp then opened up the sprint setting up a perfect lead out for Pagacha and Vingagore to surge past and then it was Pagacha who powered to the win not what anyone expected but Pogy is apparently a sprinter now as well and what’s even more surprising Vingore came in second after stage one Jonathan Milan outsprinted everyone on stage two and Ivan Romeo surprised with an insane power burst on stage three not much happened when it comes to general classification in those two stages the real statement however came on stage 4 when the time trial was on schedule with just 17.4 km on the clock big GC gaps weren’t really on the radar even upon taking the win came as no surprise vingor’s runner-up ride was solid but Pagacha 28 seconds back raised a few eyebrows in fact immediately after people started speculating how he might have tactically taken the TT lightly to trick everyone and to contrast that how he could just be out of shape due to the fatigue from the classics there’s been a thousand questions and not a single answer why was Paga so far off the pace was he going full gas and why did he inspect Vizma Lisa Bike’s Surveillo time trial bike after the stage well some people still think this year’s criterium due doofine was one big poker match pagacha Vingor and Evanipole were revealing their cards one day and bluffing the next when you dig into the numbers the inconsistencies in their performances are hard to explain otherwise sure it was hot and even a poll mentioned allergies but at this level riders shouldn’t see major fluctuations in their peak 10 to 30 minute power over just four or 5 days looking closely at the time trial the first 6.5 km of it was completely flat a rider’s speed there was dependent merely by their watts per coefficient of aerodynamic drag and Remco is the fastest rider in this regard in the world pagachar has spent years honing his time trial skills and is usually among the world’s elite against the clock yet in the opening 6.5 km of stage 4 he trailed Evanapole by a surprising 25 seconds after the flat part a punchy climb followed it was a 4 to 5minute effort with the gradients going up towards 18% evanole still edged out Pagatcha on that section of the course but only by a handful of seconds and knowing what happened in the following days this doesn’t make sense either however the Slovenian continued to bleed time over the second half ultimately conceding 48 seconds to the world time trial champion across just 17.4 km so to sum things up either Pagachar wasn’t going all out or something was wrong with his bike and the latter is highly unlikely as well on stage five Jake Stewart took the top podium spot and then on stage six it was time for the mountains the final stages of the race were notably short measuring just 127 132 and 133 km each lasting only 3 to 4 hours many still believe that the longer and tougher the race the smaller the gap between Pagacha and Vingugore becomes the world champion tends to excel in shorter punchier events while Vingugore shines in longer grueling efforts in fact the only times the DNE has truly broken Pagata’s dominance have been on long challenging mountain stages late in the tour to France’s third week but at the Doofane stage six belonged to Pugachar he attacked and took the stage win by a full minute over Vingore finishing nearly 2 minutes in front of Evanapool in the opening minutes of the climb Pavl Civikov was laying down nearly eight watts per kilo during his final lead out for Pagachar who then surged even harder off that effort by the time he crossed the line he had sustained an estimated 7.1 watts per kilo for 20 minutes which is crazy but what happened to Vingore on that climb he could only try to sprint behind Pagachar’s wheel for about 10 seconds and he was gone well one possibility is that Vingagore and the others simply cracked under the pressure of UAE’s brutal leadout by driving the first 6 minutes at around 8 watts per kilo Pagacha and his team forced everyone deep into the red pushing them past their limits and into oxygen debt but of course another possibility is that Vingore was bluffing keeping his true form under wraps ahead of the tour to France at the end of that stage Vingigore finished just 21 seconds ahead of Florian Lippowitz 29 ahead of Matteo Jorgensson and a minute clear of riders like Louis Barre Ben Tullet and Paul Sexus with all due respect a fully fit Vingore would be expected to put significantly more time into that group on a steep 20-minute climb the GC battle then rolled on in stage seven which was the Queen stage visma Lisa bike lit up the stage attacking repeatedly forcing splits launching riders up the road and even pushing the pace on the descents while Pagacha handled every surge his teammates couldn’t hang on with 62 km still remaining he was left completely isolated at the front of the race the race came back together in the valley leading to the final climb with a flurry of attacks flying off the front crucially Pavville Civiverov made his way back to the front group to assist Pagachar on the last climb civikov helped drive the pace through the valley and onto the early slopes of Valmanier 1800 but then Sepkus launched a serious move instead of reacting directly Sivikov set a fierce tempo at the front thinning the group with each pedal stroke by pushing over 500 watts with 12 km to go Civikov pulled off and Pogata went vingore managed to hold the wheel for only a few seconds before being distanced while the rest of the contenders were already out of reach and this is where things got strange vingor was dropped with 28 minutes of climbing left which normally results into some huge time losses but the gap never ballooned despite Johannes Evanapole Lipovitz and others continuing to hemorrhage time to Pagachar Vingugore held steady never allowing the deficit to grow beyond 30 seconds and while Pagachar said he eased up in the final kilometer there’s no doubt he was digging deep on the climb one of the best ways to tell when he’s truly pushing is by watching his breathing when he’s at his limit and the facial expressions don’t give it away his stomach does you could see the rapid heavy breathing causing his belly to expand and contract noticeably but despite backing off toward the finish Pagachar still put nearly 3 minutes into Evanapul four into Enrich Maz and more than five into Jorgensson riders who were all racing full gas for a top 10 finish the final stage of the Doofane wrapped up with an uphill finish at Plateau de Monsini but there wasn’t much movement in the GC the top five stayed locked in place with Pagacha and Vingugore crossing the line together just behind stage winner Lenny Martinez so looking back at the doofine one thing is obvious in case there was no bluffing Pagach seems to be a lot stronger than both Vingore and Aventipool as well as the rest of the Pelaton and if everything goes according to plan and these performances continue it’s not hard to say he’s likely got the tour to France in his bag already especially when he’s got a young star like Isaac Del Toro on his team as well who might just become the next Pogy you can hear more about that by Yep 😂

Slop. Clearly not well researched.
As long as poggy stays on his bike he will win by 5 mins, on another level
jonas wasnt bluffing. he came across the line looking like death. pogi looked fine
AI bollox
Visma is bluffing
For some reason all this information makes me feel that Vingegaard is not without a chance. I didn’t know that the mountain stages were that much shorter than the Tour de France stages, which I think makes it difficult to conclude that much.
Interesting video, really enjoyed the topic! Just a quick note – the beep sound for each question was a bit annoying 🙂
