Hi everyone.
Am i overthinking stuff? This picture is of a bike we're considering purchasing. Is this an old-school quick release axle? On a 2025 state-of-the-art internal gear hub? Could mounting a bicycle trailer hitch be as simple as unscrewing the nut, adding the hitch and rescrewing? Or is there something else I'm not aware of?

Looks like a QR, but I’d add an adapter like Burley Hitch Adapter to offset the hitch, since the E-14 box is usually wider than the dropout. With the adapter it might also be easier to reach the cable connector to disconnect, depending on the hitch used.
