Follow up of a prior post— picked up this bike off fb market about a month ago, was left behind in a storage unit the seller had acquired, thick layer of petrified grime on frame and drivetrain— this bike represented a lot of firsts for me as a newbie bike tinkerer: took apart and cleaned everything, replaced chain/pedals, serviced hubs and replaced bottom bracket, I did add a 3rd smaller chainring to manage the many hills where I live. That yellow case was $1 at a thrift store, I inserted a thin board inside the folio and drilled some rope hooks for a cheapo diy pannier.

Derailleur is shimano light action— from what I read it’s a low end groupset; however, the so far very reliable indexed “cli-chunk” feels anything but low-end!

Plan to commute to work and dream of touring on this periwinkle machine along the pnw. Only recently bitten by the bike bug, so working on building strength/endurance/form and figuring out all the many other nuances of long distance bike riding.

Let me know what you guys think. What’s the next (eventual) upgrade? Spot anything egregious (maybe the handlebar tilt or hood placement)? Should I go to 130mm and install 700c?
