we were doing so well we hadn’t offended anybody until you came here and now we do you worry about that oh big time really this is very true I was on this German talk show and this woman said Mr Williams why do you think there’s not so much comedy in Germany and I said did you ever think you tried to kill all the funny people but not a joke not a joke not a joke I seem to have forgotten everything before 1945 yeah but she didn’t B an eyelash she just went no at that point went well see every thinks they’re funny though everybody thinks they’ve got a sense of humor that’s the problem even people that don’t have a sense of humor they go that’s not funny you go yes it’s funny no no no I know funny I’m German yeah yeah knock knock we ask the question

  1. Not only humorous, extremely well educated and diverse. He came up with facts in history; relevant to the time, politics, social issues, etc. He could get serious with comedy like the comments here.

  2. We missed him even more when we know he might been under sadness or depression, yet was using his magic of comedy to bring happiness to others.

  4. I'm German and I howled at that punchline! 😂 By the way, we've actually had brilliant comedians in Germany. The problem is that tv interviewers/talkshow hosts usually aren't among them (in the U.S., comedians tend to host their own talkshows. There's no such tradition in Germany). And even if there was, Germans are practically forbidden by law to laugh about anything remotely Holocaust-related.
