I am planning my first bike pack adventure after years of getting into this stuff, mostly a commuter who buys groceries but I’ve used my bags a lot already and just haven’t camped in a while. This is my weight for tent, foot print, sleeping bag, pillow, and sleeping pad which I’ll strap to the back, not much heavier might tip it to about 11 pounds. Also have 2 side pockets currently with empty water filter, and bike tools in the other pocket, I’ll need to add a few little bits but this is how my rear bag is currently fit.

How’s that sound for a single rear pack? Curious if I have relatively heavy weight equipment or actually pretty solid weight for the materials.

It’s a carradice sqr bag that clamps to the seatpost, and is quick release on and off. Total capacity is about 15 liters and max weight of 20 pounds, which I’ve never been able to exceed no matter how hard I’ve tried. I regularly carry about 10-12 pounds in this from grocery and know about how it feels so I’ll be curious how the rest of my kit fits into other bags!
