Violence, persecution and more has forced over 123 million people across the globe to flee their homes. Now more than ever, people escaping danger need our support, because everyone has the right to a safe and secure
place to call home. 🏠

This World Refugee Day, we’re spotlighting one of our amazing funded partners, The Bike Project, who work to empower those rebuilding their lives after fleeing their home country.

From their workshops in London and Birmingham, The Bike Project fix, refurbish and donate second-hand bikes to refugees and asylum seekers who have arrived in the UK with almost nothing. 🚲

Access to food banks, legal advice, healthcare and education are just a few of the opportunities having a bike can provide for people without the means or money to travel.

It’s thanks to your support that we can continue to help make a difference in peoples lives! ❤️

Thank you. Donate if you can.

i used it almost every day when I first got it like it was my life it was everything that I had a lot of the people that we support they talk about a bike being really life-changing it’s not just a mode of transport it offers them a tool for getting around for being able to connect attend essential appointments and be part of a community people always talk about the physical and mental health benefits that they they receive from having a bike i joined the bike project as a beneficiary when I got the bike it helped me to build my confidence and basically it gave me a second chance in life really i’m able to travel go to my doctor’s appointment on time meet people go to church um get education and also volunteer with other charities and do other work in the community so at the moment we’re serving around 2,000 refugees uh per year with a donated bike unfortunately we know that there are many more that we’re not reaching um the organizations that refer to us have waiting lists of their own before somebody comes onto our waiting list and our few self-referral spots are snapped up in just minutes uh each month so funding like this is really critical to enable us to continue to serve uh the demand as best we can
