the last day of driving before reaching Barcelona but with bad weather and problems ahead things won’t go as planned in the end I will never make it at least not today so good morning the last day of the trip to Barcelona um and the weather seems not that great at the moment i checked all the way to Barcelona because it’s now 400 km a bit more uh 5 hours of driving but uh on the way uh we can expect some rain so that will be a bit more sketchy than all the days before this uh where the weather was great although sometimes a bit too cold but uh yeah it was sunny uh it was sunny so that’s nice uh also more wind um I saw so it will be a bit more um yeah like I said bit more sketchy today but of course we will probably manage and I will just take my time if I leave 9:30 it’s about 5 hours of driving so I will be there 3 or 4:00 which is uh fine so um let’s get packing and then uh go so for the first time during this vacation the bike started right away which was to be expected with a new battery of course but I’m glad it’s finally working we will first drive through Milo and then begin our climb up a nearby mountain this was the first time the weather wasn’t that great a bit rainy and cold uh with some wind although it’s not very visible there’s a slight drizzle although this route is probably very beautiful and good to ride in the summer since it has some great corners it wasn’t that great this time it felt more like surviving because of the weather fortunately once the road descended the wind and cold became less of a problem and everything looked fine i was getting close to the Spanish border so things were looking up [Music] [Music] [Music] heat [Music] [Music] heat [Music] heat heat [Music] [Music] [Music] there’s Southern part of France was not that great it was kind of flat but I was starting to see tropical trees which is a good sign so I was getting excited there’s a few more hours of riding and then I could finally relax at my Airbnb with a nice beer but that was not going to happen anytime soon as I approached a roundabout I completely closed the throttle while shifting down on the roundabout I started accelerating again but the bike began to stutter i sifted down thinking I was in too high of a gear but it made no difference i looked at my gauges and I was a bit shocked my speedometer and RPM needle were all over the place and yet you can actually see in the video here’s what happened so we are in problems again or we have problems again yesterday it was the battery and today it’s the next day it’s uh a bit more serious because now I came out of the turn uh of a roundabout and immediately the the engine start splittering and the RPM and the speed gauge were all over the place if I if I’m correct I have it on uh the movie which I will show of course but yeah it it felt really unsafe so I had to stop and now we are standing at the side of the road the bike is uh all open with the booster and stuff and yes it does start with the booster but again it uh it’s completely yeah kind of broken because it doesn’t want to run stationary again or it’s all over the place the RPM gauge doesn’t uh doesn’t work or if it works it’s like this um or it stays flat on zero so yeah now we’re stranded i uh had to call road service to come and uh get me hopefully they can get it going because I think maybe with a new battery I can actually manage to drive to Barcelona and get it sorted out because it’s probably something with the the dynamo or something that’s charged the battery of course uh or a current regulator we’re not sure what if if that is possible then yeah maybe an a truck which uh gets the bike and me to Barcelona and then we can get the problem sorted there because um I mean it’s annoying but it’s not a very big problem like the bike is completely broken just a small annoying uh problem okay so we’ll wait for the surface and uh see you later so after a long day it’s now I think 9:00 yes almost 9:00 i’m finally in hotel room i think I was stranded at about 2 or 3 in the midday yeah and it was like a roller coaster of what’s going on what’s going to happen first I tried to fix the bike by myself with the help of some other people did it didn’t work out so I had to call the road service and then I had to wait a long time for them and at the location where the bike was stalled it was unclear what was going to happen uh next so now the my insurance company arranged a cab to this hotel and tomorrow we will take a look at bicycle stores or motorcycle stores in the area which can fix my motorcycle and then probably I will take a cab towards the the motorbike store after it’s being fixed if that’s even going to happen because if not then I’m stranded here which is a pity of course but um yeah we will have to See you tomorrow and then we we know enough now I will probably take a shower and then uh go to bed because yeah I’m quite tired now okay see you in the morning good morning so this is the next day and this is the location I was staying a motel interesting because in the Netherlands we don’t have a lot of motel at least I don’t see them a lot but I guess in big countries this is the way to go because yeah a lot of people are going here for traveling so they want a cheap place um on their journey to somewhere else so yeah it’s convenient but uh yeah interesting it was uh a nice room and now it’s actually waiting for the insurance company to give me an um rental car because the motorcycle will be um uh can be repaired in maybe a week maybe a bit longer uh yeah and I don’t want to wait for that so uh that’s why they are going to arrange a rental car for me so I can continue the journey to Barcelona so a bit inconvenient but at the same time nice that everything is arranged so we can actually uh might be today in Barcelona so that’s quite cool now I’m going for a walk and just wait for the insurance company to call me so I’m now walking to a nearby uh town tur because I have to wait for an answer from the uh insurance company and I just wanted to give you guys a tip because uh although this situation is not great um some items I brought with me make it smoother for example this thing just a power bank but a very big one i mean yesterday I could charge my phone all day and I was calling with a lot of people from the insurance company with friends to help with the motorcycle and if I didn’t have this thing my phone would have died very fast so if you go on a trip like this make sure to bring items like this one because it’s very convenient and yes the chance that you strand is low but if you strand you will regret it that you didn’t brought it with you so yeah make sure that you think about the negative things that can happen on your vacation it will make it uh smoother if it happens okay so I will just explore a bit it’s also very uh clear that the season is not here i mean it’s the beginning of March of course so what do you expect but it really looks like the Netherlands i mean we have water and gray everywhere and you can see that in the summer this will probably pop with all the colors but now it’s uh yeah it feels like the Netherlands although some small changes in the architecture the way the buildings are designed so later in the year this would be better but that was to be expected good morning good morning so a new update i’m in Barcelona because it is now uh Saturday in the morning they uh they found me a car which was actually in uh Spain already and I need to take an Uber to get it but it was on the route to Barcelona it fit in my plan so that was a nice thing i arrived there at 10:00 and here it is it is actually a Dutch car which is convenient because if the motorcycle will not be repaired in time or um it’s it’s very expensive then I can take this car and drive with it to the Netherlands so that is uh quite uh quite nice so everything is now arranged the car is yeah standing here for now and I can do my thing in Barcelona so that’s nice the motorbike will be checked on next week on Thursday or Friday and then we will decide what is going to happen because if it’s uh it will take too long uh maybe they can repair it in a couple of weeks then the bike will go to Netherlands and I will drive this car to the Netherlands as well but if the bike can be repaired for a decent price and in time then I will return the car and get my bike and then continue my journey so yeah uh a bit change of plans but at the same time um yeah I’m very happy how everything went with the insurance company it’s very uh yeah very nice let’s uh enjoy Barcelona so that was it for this episode the way I arrived here was unexpected but I’m glad I finally made it from now on I will mainly use public transportation
