Hey there, future bike champs. Before you start pedaling,
let’s talk bike safety. First up, let’s size up your bike. Can you touch the ground with your feet? If not, it’s time for a bike that fits. Next up, give your bike a once-over. Are the brakes working? Tires pumped? Wheels straight? If not, it’s off to the bike
doctor for a tune-up. Make sure you have a snug-fitting helmet. Your bike needs a front
light and reflectors out back. A bell or horn for some musical flare —
and reflective tape. Follow the rules of the road. That means coming to a full stop
at stop signs. Next up, hand signals. Left turn: Stick that left arm straight out. Right turn: Bend that left arm up
or point with the right. And for a stop, give that
left arm a stylish bend down. Be bold, be bright and make some noise. Whether it’s a bell, horn
or a good old yell. Let the world know you’re coming through. Finally, grab a friend and let
your grown-ups know your route. Teamwork makes the dream work.
