Hello everyone, I'm buying my first road bike and am pretty new and overwhelmed by all the different options out there. I ride on roads mainly for fitness (10ish miles each time), and want to do longer rides in the future.
I found this upgraded 2021 Domane AL3 for $700. The groupset has been upgraded to a 105 and the stem to a Ritchey Stem (Carbon). It has what I was looking for; space for wide tires and a 105 group set, but I wasn't sure if:
1) Is this a good deal?
2) Something seems suspecious. Why would someone take a $1100 bike and add $700 worth of upgrades to it over the course of such a short time period? This is the second owner of the bike, and the first owner was the one that did all the upgrades. I was theorizing that perhaps he got into a really bad crash and the groupset and stem took most of the impact and so it made sense to upgrade them. Any thoughts? Anything I should look out for?
