hello cyclist The newest edition from ADO affordable bicycle It’s the ADO Air 20 Ultra and it has pretty cool new features [Music] In the rear there is the Buffang motor and there’s also the three gear automatic gearing system So that’s a new addition because up to now there has only been like a two gear shifting system Of course there is the belt drive We know that the battery is located in the seat post There is a suspension and the fork The ADO has the two modes the eco and the sport mode And in each of the modes five levels of paddle assistance So you do have a really large variety so you can find the way and the modes of support you need for your daily commute or when you need the extra little push if you um have inclines in your commute or in the area you live So for me this is absolutely a really cool upgrade from ADO [Music] The ADO 20 Ultra offers two very special and cool new features The first are the two modes the eco and the sport mode So it’s very easy to swap between those You just push the on and off button twice and then the plus and then you switch from the eco to the sport mode And most of the time I was cycling in the eco mode because the motor with the 40 Newton meters like offers you all the power and all the support in the sport mode but not in the eco mode which I think is pretty cool because I love to exercise when I’m still cycling you know even with the motor So you can it feels like almost riding a manual bike or a biobike when you cycle in the eco mode and just in the first um level of pedal assistance But if you want this extra notch um or you don’t want to exercise because you don’t want to arrive very sweaty somewhere or you have a lot of inclines to tackle then the sport mode is definitely the option for you Because like when I was just cycling around uh and commuting the sport mode was too much for me And the second novelty is indeed the motor in the rear hub It’s from the Fang but it has three automatic gears And let’s check if those three gears shift when they are supposed to shift And the first supposed to shift with yes 13 km an hour And from the second to the third at 19 and 19.3 it shifted First I wasn’t really sure if I would be annoyed maybe cuz I was a bit afraid cuz usually I cycle between 18 and 20 kilometers in Hamburg but and I was afraid that it would shift constantly between the second and the third gear But somehow I don’t know why I managed to cycle just under 19 km And when I wanted to you know when I saw that the light was switching from green to red I gave it the extra notch and switched to the third gear So for me this experience was definitely very satisfying so to say The brakes are hydraulic disc brakes from Tekro and they work really well And also a feature that I really really appreciate and got to love a lot is is indeed the suspension fork So cuz usually when you do cycle a foldable or very compact bike and you cycle over um cobblestone or um I don’t know if the street is not in the best condition can be really annoying cuz for me um due to the frame geometry that is very compact it’s also very agile but you know I felt every now and then not so super secure but with a suspension it’s a very different riding experience and therefore also much safer in my opinion And if you don’t like a suspension you can just lock it Otherwise of course you can adjust the height of the handlebars and then you can sit even more upright Ado also offers indicators So there’s a little switch just underneath the display and you can give signals where you want to go But I would always recommend always use your arms as well cuz first of all the uh relight with the indicators is pretty low cuz it’s just a 20in uh wheel and I would say most of the fellow cyclists and fellow cars are not used to indicators on bikes and also no one in the front will see what is happening So always use your arms please The tires are very chunky and therefore also work like an extra suspension So the whole experience concerning the com comfortable sitting and comfortable riding experience is definitely new and def definitely an upgrade So as you can see the riding experience is pretty cool I even tried it without any motor support And I must say because it weighs 19 kilograms it was quite tough for my legs But the 19 kg is also important if you plan on carrying your foldable bike a lot Then I would say this bicycle is definitely not a lightweight bike Everything that adds up of course is the battery is the motor and the gearing system in the rear hub and of course the fenders uh the rear rack So all in all in total I must say it’s a it’s a cool bike but it’s not lightweight So if you have to carry it up maybe a lot every day and you lift like on the top floor not so sure if this is the right choice for you But I was carrying it into the bus and into the train and um for me that was absolutely okay Especially when you fold it you have this gear um not this gear this grip And that worked really well for me It’s my opinion the best way to carry the bicycle But why the two modes i think it is because if ADO did did read all the comments below for example my videos when I was testing the ADO air 20 there were a lot of questions like how steep can a hill be that the ADO foldable bike is um can tackle it easily and the motor was okay but with this 40 Newton meters of torque and the sport mode you can easily tackle really steep inclines So has up to 33.3% more assistance when you do cycle steep inclines And it’s so it’s so difficult for me to show you how I test inclines because the camera can’t really show it But I test like the steepest inclines I could find here in Hamburg And with the sport mode and the third level of paddle assistance it was really easy to cycle up the hill And the same for the eco mode When I was level two and three even moderate inclines were absolutely possible I could still talk and wasn’t out of breath too much This bicycle is definitely for someone who commutes a lot and maybe has um a longer commute to a train or a bus than takes like for example the bus and then goes the second uh way with a bicycle to the office Ado says it is foldable in 10 seconds I practice it a lot and it takes me 15 seconds So but I think over time you really get used to this and it’s super easy And there are two magnets that hold the little package What I think is really cool is that the rear rack has the mix system So it carries up to 25 kg and you can mount pineas But I must say like the pennies have to have a certain size because I had the feeling when I was holding my pennies against it that they almost touch the ground So therefore I would maybe you check what you have at home or if you maybe need new transport system for the m carrier The bicycle is for people from 155 cm up to 2 m So definitely for the whole family maybe starting for children if they are allowed to cycle an ebike from grade four or five up to the parents And it can carry up to 120 kg which is nice cuz if you’re like taller and you want to carry some groceries all the stuff you need for the office that can be pretty heavy sometimes then this bicycle can absolutely tackle this challenge Also something that I like I know it’s pretty superficial but you know for me it’s always very important to arrive in style is indeed the painting As you can see the paint looks a bit like the sky because you have darker blue here then almost white in the middle So I did really like it but there is also a gray option I think both are very elegant and in combination with the black parts like the seat post the handlebars the grips and the saddle I think ADO did a really good job concerning the design Of course the bicycle comes with lights in the front and in the back and and this time the rear light is not only attached to the rear carrier but it also gets the energy from the battery and that is something that I really like because that hasn’t been uh like that in the in the past and I think that’s definitely something you don’t have to worry about anymore So thumbs up ADO thanks a lot I did test this bicycle for a couple of weeks because also to see how the range of the battery is because that is something especially when you do longer tours or when your commute is like between 10 and 15 km a day says it’s up to 60 kilometers maybe when you’re cycling a lot in the eco mode But I must say for me and I did test it very moderately most of the time I was in the eco mode I’m not like super heavy and not so tall and it has been between 15 and 20 degrees and my range was 48 kilometers So I would say that it’s appropriate that ADO says it can carry you up to 60 kilometers The bicycle can be ordered online and that’s the thing So if you need some service or if you have questions you have to contact ADO via the app or the website And there’s great news concerning service because there is an experience center in Dissolv and they offer repair services as a parts delivery So if you do own a bike in Germany or I would say two countries close you now have um yeah someone you can talk to and um not asked directly via the app for service Of course you can still do that but I think it’s always really cool that you do have like people not too far away maybe that can help you if you do have issues If you have a closer look at the parts and components most of them can be serviced in regular bike shops I would say maybe the only thing that you have to keep in mind is that the battery or the seat post is very special and also the motor in the rear hub and the belt drive It’s not from Gates for example It’s also an own production or at least I cannot see who the manufacturer of the component is The app also tracks all the all your bike rides if that’s something you’re interested in The price as a typical ADO price I would say absolutely affordable and therefore I give my thumbs up because you have a very special very beautiful
