[Music] morning and welcome back to a beautiful day in the Lake District and today I am in Weddale to take you on a fantastic little hidden gem of a cafe and uh stay with me because you’re gonna get some amazing views and uh yeah we’ll get further down and we’ll talk about which route we’re taking that day so let’s go let’s get some views [Music] [Applause] [Music] so all that beautiful uh descending you just watched I’ve had to come all the way back up to here look yeah so that was some climb especially in the heat we’ve had no summer for the last 3 weeks it’s been freezing but then today it’s 21° so I thought I need to get out so yeah today’s route I’ve started at Goss because there’s a free car park there there’s free toilets and usually you can always get parked there and it’s not too far from Wdale it’s nice little cycling in a few little steep little climbs not too long but they are steep and uh yeah started from there then what me what my plans are to head down into Wdale show you all the beautiful views britain’s best view and uh yeah and then turn back and then go to a cafe called the Sawmill Cafe I think it’s called uh go in there get something to eat and then circle around back to Gothfor so it should be a good ride should be maybe around about 20 miles so not too far but you get all the views in that 20 m so yeah let’s get back on the bike let’s get down into Wasale [Music] [Music] so this is the beautiful Wale straight in front of me from On the left hand side is Ubarrow great gable right down the middle absolute stunning looking mountain and then you’ve got the Scarfell massive uh what you can see there is uh Scarfell at the front and Scarfell Pike is just around the corner as such h you can’t quite see it from here but yeah that full lot is where you climb Scaral Pike highest mountain in England and some of the best climbing and hiking is around here yeah so I just stopped for a quick little pit stop had a drink had a bit of a gel uh you don’t realize how many climbs you’re going around it’s just like small little climbs but not too serious but they’re quite little steep little things get the legs going do you know what I mean and uh yeah I’m only about 10 miles in to be fair but uh I’ve decided because this road is crazy busy today instead let me just go to Wdale and turning back i mean I’ve got all the shots and footage and views you can get from here uh I’m gonna head to the cafe and go to the Sawmill Cafe and take you down there and uh hopefully I can show you that hopefully it’s not too busy so if there’s an outside seat I’ll sit outside and uh show you what I get but it’s a little hidden gem and if you’re ever up this way it’s a nice little cafe stop this is actually a nice little route for any cyclist any sort of uh first-time cyclist or anything is just like a little 20 mile loop and you get the most beautiful views there’s a couple of pub stops and there’s a cafe stop so yeah it’s really good anyways I’m going to get back on the bike and show you some views cuz the views are better than me wobbling on aren’t they [Music] Heat up here [Music] i can’t believe how busy the roads are today i really can’t uh I’d say about 10 years ago Wasdale you hardly seen any cars whatsoever it was only for like dieh hard hikers uh and uh rock climbers and stuff like that and divers in Wasdale but since the integration of van life and everyone buying vans and doing them up and all that sort of thing God there was about 300 vans going alongside Weddale uh yeah I don’t know if I can get into that or not i mean in England you’re not meant to do it only on official campsites scotland you can do what you want but in here you’re not meant to do it i mean I don’t know how I feel about it it seems to be getting a bit over the bit crazy now like more and more and more and more are doing it and it’s just becoming more or less impossible for uh yeah get parked or you know to enjoy the views and stuff anyway I’m just around the corner from Sawmill Cafe now so let’s get in there yeah so here we I’m almost certain they’ve got like a back bike locks uh chain or uh bar so let’s go and have a look at There you go cheers yeah so that was the sawmill in Wdale i do apologize guys couldn’t really speak in there but I’ve shown you what it was like absolutely beautiful outside area with next to the river absolute stunning what a little find this is absolute stunning and it’s probably between Santon Bridge and Wdale if you want to find it uh obviously if you check my route I’ll put it in the description uh you can find it easy enough yeah the sawmill in Wdale brilliant right let’s get back on the bike let’s try and burn some of this uh baguette off of just Let’s go so I don’t know if you can see that if it looks as bad on camera as it is in real life but that’s my last little steep climb of the day and then it flattens out these sort of things these little steep and small they’re all over the place around here and they are just a little leg killer but good good for fitness I guess anyway let’s get up here and let’s get back around the other side [Music] [Applause] [Music] yeah so
