A little surprise. We’ll explain what’s going on. If you’re just joining us, we have a breakaway of 11 riders. Mathieu Van der Poel took a few meters ahead in the sprint at Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, as it happens. And behind them, there are still 10 riders. Maxim Van Gijs, bib number 1 for the Red Bull – Bora team. He was more than 37 minutes behind in the general classification. He’s not worrying. Sepp Kuss, of course, represents Jonas Vingegaard and Visma – Lease a Bike, Sepp Kuss, former winner of the Vuelta a España. We have Tobias Foss for Team Ineos. Valentin Paret-Peintre, for Remco Evenepoel’s team. There are other French riders. Valentin Paret-Peintez is with Bruno Armirail for the Décathlon – AG2R with Lenny Martinez who missed his Dauphiné and is trying to make up for lost time today. Ben Healy is at the front. Two riders, as you said, Enric Mas and Ivan Romeo for Movistar. And Alexey Lutsenko, there was also Jake Stewart, the sprinter, the British rider who won a stage in this 77th edition of the Dauphiné, who was dropped earlier during the climb of the Col de Beaune. And of course, the Uno-X team is riding Jacky because Enric Mas is 7 minutes 43 seconds behind in the general classification. He’s tenth, but he can threaten Tobias Johannessen, who is fifth. And we want to validate Tobias Johannessen’s top 5. It’s a godsend. For Tadej Pogacar today, if by chance the Uno-X team brings the peloton back to the front of the race. Watch out, Mathieu Van der Poel. It wasn’t dangerous, we said. It’s the only downhill. If Mathieu Van der Poel makes a mistake. Watch out behind, because he’s a rider. Exactly, we saw him immediately unclip. Class. The little reflex of the right leg to rebalance. No, but it’s not given to everyone. No, but that’s why, behind, watch out. Look at the state of the road too. It’s just… Look, on the climb, it’s not raining. We’re 2 kilometers apart. Romeo, it’s the last efforts of the week. He goes for it, he lets go of the brakes, as they say. He has about ten kilometers left. When we’re truly at the foot of Mont Cenis, we’ll be a little over 14 kilometers from the finish. So, he still has a good fifteen minutes of effort to make. Nothing is decided. 50 seconds. Mathieu Van der Poel is losing ground. Behind him, we have some excellent climbers who, for the moment, are skating. We’re thinking of Valentin Paret-Peinrez, we’re thinking of Enric Mas, of Sepp Kuss, of course, the former winner of the Vuelta. Is Romeo going to give him a little pat on the back, no? Maybe it’s the other way around. Right now, we can see him clearly, he’s giving his final relay. Ivan Romeo, as a specialist in the discipline, a time trial specialist. We’re going to turn right, straight ahead, to go to the Iseran. How many kilometers are left to reach the summit of the Iseran? 33. Yes, won. You should have followed the paddle earlier, on the Rois de la Pédale plateau. He’s getting up. He’s already getting up. Mathieu, it’s good. No, he’s going to the Iseran, look. He’s going to extend. Look, Mathieu, him, on the left. Direction Suze. And Italy. And Italy. We’re going towards Italy on this road. Absolutely. Yes, he did the job. I even saw him touch the speedometer. He still hasn’t turned off the speedometer. Romain Bardet, he might have an appointment. He’s moving aside. He’s moving aside, Romain. He might just finish the last climb and enjoy the crowd. We saw another rider give him a little pat. It was Remco. It was Remco, give him a little pat on the back. I have the feeling that Romain, he’s not going to do like the others. He’ll finish quietly behind the peloton and enjoy his last kilometers. I didn’t see the time go by. “I didn’t see the time go by.” My legs felt it go by. “My legs felt it go by.” 1’18”. 11.4 kilometers, but above all, 6 kilometers of climbing, a little more. We’ve made up a few… Oh, Enric Mas’s big attack. Logical, let’s say, the best-placed rider in the general classification is starting to slip away. Yes, he’s worked so hard, Ivan Romeo. He’s not going to give up 10 kilometers from the finish. Since we accelerated with Enric Mas, we’re making up time. Ben Healy explodes. He did the popcorn trick on us, Ben Healy. “I tried, but it’s climbing too fast.” The Spanish leader of Movistar is also a better climber than Ben Healy on paper. We’re going to find ourselves with Enric Mas and the grandson of a Burgos native, Lenny Martinez. Incredible. Lenny, who we thought was really in trouble. There, a big acceleration. Enric Mas has taken everyone off his wheel, except Lenny. That would forget his Dauphiné, even if he set a good time. Johannessen, he’s going for his little attack. He knows that Enric Mas has attacked in front. He sees that the peloton continues to lose time to Enric Mas, so it’s up to him to go for it. Watch out, a crash behind. Big crash behind. There’s Paul, Paul Seixas, on the right, I think. Paul Seixas who fell, who needs to get back on his bike quickly. There’s Ed Dunbar who also fell. Ouch, ouch, ouch. That, we have to wait for, the three, four Decathlons who are there. Rodriguez with Jorgenson behind, with Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard . Tim Wellens remains. Jorgenson, Johannessen, Pogacar, Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel, Lipowitz, and Van Gils remain. And Van Gils is with him. And Johannessen adds another layer. Remco is going to launch his little attack. Remco Evenepoel attacks. Vingegaard follows him. And when it’s like that, Pogi goes for it. Lipowitz? He’s not there. We were hoping, we felt, an attack from Lipowitz. Remco wants to get on the podium. It’s a much smoother finale, conducive to the qualities, precisely, of Remco Evenepoel. Lipowitz, who has Maxim Van Gils to help him, doesn’t look like he’s having a great day. Florian Lipowitz. We came back to Johannessen. Lipowitz, his third place, isn’t really threatened by Remco Evenepoel. He has a lead of almost two minutes, Lipowitz over Remco Evenepoel. So, don’t panic about the white jersey. Attack from Lenny Martinez, in front. Just as Enric Mas was on the fresh bike. We must have told him through his earpiece that the fight had started between the top four in the general classification. So, to work, Lenny Martinez goes. There were three representatives of the Bees in the top 10 of the general classification this morning. Yes, Jorgenson, who normally would move up in the general classification. Attack from Vingegaard. We were expecting it, it’s going to happen. Vingegaard, who will still test Tadej Pogacar. We’re going to have it. The final showdown between the two future stars of July. Already a star in this Dauphiné. Jonas Vingegaard firing his gun with Tadej Pogacar. Behind, Remco can’t keep up. It’s over for Tobias Johannessen. Valentin Paret-Peintre unleashes his final venom. And no counterattack from Tadej. I was expecting a counterattack from the yellow jersey, but no. He says, “Here, I’ll pass you a little baton.” And Lipowitz is coming back, kindly. We saw it, a discussion between Sepp Kuss and Jonas Vingegaard. Are you feeling good? Are we coming for the win or not? We’ll try. We see Remco Evenepoel. All alone, Remco. All alone. We’re a little over a kilometer from the summit for the Yellow Jersey group. Remember, at the summit, there will be 5 kilometers left, let’s say, of flatland, even if it’s not completely flat. Ben Healy, he’s not going to like Sepp Kuss’s relay, Ben Healy. Lenny Martinez, 45 seconds ahead 800 meters from the summit. It could do it. Yes, it should do it. It should do it. for Lenny Martinez. You see, we’re at the summit, unless we’re really in this last kilometer. A big attack from Jonas Vingegaard. Well yes, a new attack anyway from Jonas Vingegaard. We’re trying until the end. We talked about it yesterday, we talked about it this morning on the Rois de la Pédale plateau. There’s pride, there’s a Tour, there’s a psychological battle between these two. Yes, 48 hours ago, I couldn’t keep up. You gave me a minute on the last climb. Yesterday, you gave me 20 seconds, and now we’re together. I’ll always be here. I’m your band-aid. He’s a sniper, he does everything well. A victory at Paris-Nice this year. A victory also at the Tour de Romandie. He only wins in the World Tour, maybe the third World Tour victory of his first season for Bahrain Victorious. What a great end to the climb. Even if we’re not pushing hard for Vingegaard and Pogacar, there were still some accelerations from the Visma leader, and he hasn’t lost anything. Almost nothing. Lenny Martinez is going to tip over. It’s not a complete tipping point. It’s not a five-kilometer descent. There’s some flat terrain, we’ll still have to pedal. But with 50 seconds, I don’t have the feeling that behind, it’s a real pursuit from the first and second, in the general classification. Lenny, Lenny, go Lenny, 2.4 kilometers, 35 seconds. They say it’s won, but it’s not done. There are two monsters behind, Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard. There are these little false flats, we said it. It’s not a downhill, there’s a bit of flat, but there are a few little false flats. He pedals with his shoulders anyway. It’s his style. It’s his style, it’ll work. It should. He knows it, he has a big smile, Lenny Martinez. It’s there. This third World Tour victory of the season, the ninth of his career. He was perhaps expecting a better result in the general classification. It was the same thing at Paris-Nice. He impressed us, won his stage before losing contact. A day on the edge of the peloton. He was excellent again at the Tour de Romandie. Stage winner, and now, in a kilometer, it will be the ninth of his career for Lenny Martinez. The French youth are doing well. There’s Paul Seixas, there’s Lenny Martinez, there’s Romain Grégoire too, who we ‘ll see again tomorrow at the Tour de Suisse. There’s Paul Magnier who shone again today. It’s true that Lenny Martinez was hoping for much better, I think, on the mountain stages. Absent from the debates yesterday and the day before, but this morning, he said to himself: I’m not going to finish this Dauphiné like this, in anonymity. I absolutely have to give it a go. We had to be in this breakaway of about ten riders. It really took off. He was there. Afterwards, yes, he benefited from the work, particularly from the Movistar team with Ivan Romeo, who rode for many kilometers for Enric Mas. He got the better of Enric Mas a bit on the final climb to counter him two or three kilometers from the summit. The perfect race for the Bahrain rider. Lenny Martinez who will save his week. He had surely come for a good general classification, but Lenny is a rider of pure class. He was perfect in managing the breakaway. He attacked Enric Mas and he will go for his third World Tour victory. consecutive this year. After Paris – Nice, after the Tour de Romandie, Lenny Martinez dedicates a victory to the Dauphiné. The last stage. It’s true that he still played the game damn well. He had to have the cane, and he did it. And now, the sprint for second place or not. Hand in hand or not? Or a little sprint? Look, sprint. He hesitated. He put his hands in the hollow. Vingegaard hands down. Pogi, hands on the levers for the moment. It’s coming back behind with Remco Evenepoel. For the moment, it’s not moving. Pogacar who launches, Jonas Vingegaard in the wheel who will try to pass him. Pogacar is not going to contest this second place and Vingegaard doesn’t like it. He didn’t like this little gift. He would have liked us to do a sprint. We’ll talk about it again on the Kings of the Pedals panel. Jorgenson crosses the line. Remco Evenepoel, Enric Mas, Florian Lipowitz, Tobias Johannessen. We wait. Paul Seixas, of course, Ben Healy who will finish this stage with Sepp Kuss. They were both in the breakaway. Lenny Martinez wins the last stage of the Dauphiné ahead of Jonas Vingegaard. Tadej Pogacar, fourth place for the American Matteo Jorgenson, who finishes 40 seconds behind in the same time as Remco Evenepoel. Enric Mas will have tried everything. He was in the breakaway. He will not win the stage, will have to wait a little longer. His last victory dates back to 2022, but Enric Mas regains three places in the general classification and must settle for sixth place today ahead of Florian Lipowitz, seventh, and Tobias Johannessen. A big stage for the Uno-X team, which rode to defend Tobias Johannessen’s place in the general classification. Ben Healy is ninth, Sepp Kuss tenth. And then behind them are Carlos Rodriguez, Guillaume Martin and Paul Seixas in 11th place , in 13th place.

  3. French Cycling this weekend :

    – Paul Magnier double Masterclass WINS vs Philipsen and others more experienced riders
    – Vauquelin and Gregoire teaching who are the bosses in Switzerland
    – Lenny Martinez Shining again at top level
    – Seixas the new rising star replacing Romain Bardet the old sheriff !

    What a dream !
