Glencoe is beautiful but not the greatest for cycle touring but we made it through on the west highland trail which was actually fun because we met lots of through hikers along the way!

this is day 11 of our bike packing trip down the length of the UK as we continued our journey through Scotland we made our way towards Glen Co famous for its dramatic and beautiful landscapes after a mix of roads and cycle paths we arrived at the filming location for Hagrid’s hut from there things got difficult we had to choose between riding along a hectic traffic-filled road or take a rocky hiking trail we chose the trail progress was slow there were huge rocks and steep hikabike sections eventually the trail dumped us right back onto the busy road and then later onto the West Highland Way technically a hiking path that you would only bike if you’re trying to avoid traffic or you’re just into suffering we wrapped up the day at a lumpy little campsite beside an old stone bridge

Oh guys, if you had asked for some advice we could have sent you some different routes to avoid the worst of the traffic, hopping down coasts using ferries, and yet still in big mountains…

Um Glencoe is also famous for its massacre of MacDonalds in 1692😢
