[Music] [Music] good morning Um out today on a trip around Dortmund That’s where I actually live Dortmund obviously in Germany as most of you know but I guess some people don’t even know about it and heading just from home a 50 kilometer ride going north from Applebeg up to Dortmund Bra over the over the old British Army shooting ranges which are still there but not used anymore obviously cuz British Army pulled out of here in the early ‘9s I think and then heading north a bit further towards Lunan and doing a circle back home Let’s get on with it [Laughter] [Music] Heat Heat [Music] Heat [Music] Heat [Music] Heat Heat [Music] [Music] So this what I’m going to show now is we used to come down in the 80s with the British army and uh go on the shooting range which actually still there but not looking too good I’ll show you in a bit And we used to park the Bedfords around here if you can remember Let’s have a look around Yeah it’s obviously all overgrown now I mean it’s been a few years but this is where we used to come Here we go We used to march down here from the B1 in Dortmund That’s the main road going through Dortmund [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] So here you go at the end of the firing ranges If you look down the other way it’s a bloody long way I don’t think I ever hit a target actually a bit of a lost place now is it Yeah Yeah So it was back in the 80s I used to come down here and we used to do some shooting as said I wasn’t very good at shooting as a soldier those days you know I did I passed me tests was about it there you go and obviously in these these bare places here they used to be the trenches obviously we used to go down there put the targets up and shoot H So but there you go That was for me It was over 40 years ago God I’m an old sod So Oh he’s good There you go Out on the bike Just coming out of here I just realized there’s another another one right next door to it Look at this one This one hasn’t got that much graffiti on it Now looking at the end of that How did we hit the target back in those days but I’ve said that a few times Let’s take a ride down this one [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] One of the interesting things is cycling around here There just seems to be a lot of um bicycle lanes you know like this one You don’t spend much time on a road which is actually good you know cuz I’d probably get myself knocked off or something stupid [Music] That is a [Music] [Music] [Music] Oh da da da Here’s [Music] the question What is it I don’t know See if I can find out I still don’t know here Tell me over here Probably question Why does everybody have to spray graffiti everywhere Because it’s it’s not even nice is it Really I can’t see the point in it Cost money But there you go What we got Nothing Not much here Oh I know what it is It’s modern art Go down Look at the river If it’s a river look at the stream That’s what we call it really in it I’ll bet look where I’m going as I fall straight into it Here we go It’s a stream [Music] [Music] So that says yet which means in English now And we’re talking about now We’re talking about now in time because the river down here the ze or whatever it’s called or it’s it’s it’s like a stream isn’t it You know a river’s a river and a stream’s a stream to me But that that has been what do you call it It’s been It’s been renovated It used to be like you know all your living all your waste went in there put it nicely all your waste But they’ve cleaned it up now And as you can see there’s actually ducks living in it now I’m not very good at ducks Are they called Canada geese in Germany Could be Oh [Music] holy [Music] Holy Oh [Music] holy [Music] Who are you Oh [Music] [Music] well [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] I don’t think it’s worth waiting for a train to come past It doesn’t look like there’s one coming does it Really So crack on back home [Music] It’s not too bad but it’s uphill [Music] [Music]
