it’s time for one of the key stages of this criterium dofphane the individual time trial which will help us to judge the form of the three big favorites Pagatcha Vingagar and Evanapool already went head-to-head in the sprint on stage one and this will be a key test as they build towards next month’s tour to France It’ll also be fascinating to see whether the under23 world champion Ivan Romeo can keep hold of his yellow and blue jersey The stage favorite is no doubt the reigning world and Olympic champion in this discipline Remco Aven [Music] Every time that I start I I of course started to try to win it Uh it’s a pretty pretty nice course Um not technical at all actually Uh pretty much always straight except for the two corners I think and then the corner to the finish line So uh yeah I think it’s something that suits me uh fast start hard middle part and then a fast finish So uh I think I just have to go all in uh with a good pacing strategy on the climb and then uh hope for the best The course is fairly short 17.4 km between Shams and Sere Although the climb in the middle is steeper than the profile suggests and there’s a bit of a headwind to deal with It’ll be maximum effort from start to finish for those who want a good result Well the first time of note was set by the 2022 time trial world champion Tobias Foss The Norwegian going around in 22 minutes at an average of more than 47 km an hour and he confirmed that the day’s climb was harder than expected I have to admit I was really surprised when I did the recon and we saw the wall in front of us So uh I’m expecting some nuclear uh stuff from me when I was sending fog today Nuclear stuff But how good do you think your time is i don’t think I have a chance to be honest The home hopefuls were also looking to shine today Notably the former French time trial champion Remy Cavanaia The group FDJ rider quickly caught and passed his minute man Ruben Guerrero Tibo Gernch was also going nicely after his strong performances at this year’s Tour to Rameni but he couldn’t quite unseat Foss Cavana on the other hand was heading for the top of the leaderboard [Applause] Remy Cavanaia looks like he may well find himself in the hot seat of this time trial He’s running out of time though He does it by just under 3 seconds I’d have been very happy with the top five but I can’t see it happening Top 10 will be pretty satisfying given my recent form but you can’t ask for too much It’s good though It shows I’m in decent shape Now I need to keep working to gain more seconds The junior time trial world champion at Paul Sexass also put in a strong showing The 18-year-old who is by far the youngest rider in this race finishing just 5 seconds down And Cavana was eventually knocked off his perch as the big guns began to hit the course Lingard’s teammate Matteo Jorgensson was on an absolute flyer and the Parise winner came in nearly 30 seconds quicker than the Frenchman as he stormed to the top of the leaderboard onto the big three then with Evanapul the first down the ramp and the world champion was clearly in no mood to mess around by the intermediate checkpoint he was already 30 seconds faster than Jorgensson but how close were Fingergar and Pagatcha so Remco is going to go through faster goes through second fast this time and He’s going to be behind both Remco Apollo and Yonis Fengard by a quite considerable margin Pagata on the back foot as Evanopool ripped around at an average of more than 50 km an hour A demonstration from the world’s best time trialist Vingar limited the damage pretty well coming in 21 seconds down but Pagatcha was 49 seconds down on the Belgian and 28 behind the Dane The question now was would Evanool also take the yellow and blue jersey Realistically at this point only Florian Lipovitz and Ivan Romeo could deny him and it would come down to a matter of seconds Lipovitz was agonizingly close missing out by 4 seconds while Romeo was digging deep to defend his lead Ivan Romeo coming up to the line now and he is just outside the time to hold on to his jersey It was another supersonic effort from Evanool as he blitzed the rest of the field to take the stage victory and the race lead He’s now finished first in his last four individual time trials stretching back to last summer’s Olympics This is the 62nd win of the Belgian’s career and the 1,000th for his team Sudal Quickstep Feeling happy I’m feeling uh good on on the climbs on the on the flats in the in the descents as well So I think uh it’s a good step forward to to what we what we have to expect for the next week and uh I mean the next days and and next month So uh yeah we just have to keep building and take it day by day and then uh for sure there will be a lot of pressure in in the weekend from other teams But uh yeah with this victory I think I’m confident I can uh I can do well Evan Apool taking his third win of the season by 21 seconds from Vingga and 38 from Jorgensson Paga could only manage fourth behind the two Visma Lisa bike teammates with Lipovitz in fifth Well the GC now looks very different indeed with Evanapool holding yellow by 4 seconds from Lipoitz Romeo slips to third followed by Vanderpool and Vingagar while Pagatcha is 38 seconds down in eighth place Vanderpool still has the green jersey by 22 points from Pagatcha with Evanapool up to third after his win today No change though in the mountains classification where Paul Osela still leads Louis Barry by four points Evan Aopole also goes back into the white jersey as the best young rider ahead of Lipovitz and Romeo Well Thursday will be the final chance for the riders to catch their breath before we hit the mountains Although there are still plenty of climbs on the menu It’ll be sprinters versus punchers versus breakaway once again So join us tomorrow And thanks for watching [Music]

LE COMBAT CONTINUE. BIENTÔT LE JAUNE POUR jonas
La forme de Jonas est intéressante à l'approche du tour. Nous pourrions avoir une belle lutte pour jaune cette année. Même chose pour ce Dauphiné
Remco didn't even bother with aero sleeves or gloves. He just jumped on the TT bike and said " hold my bidon".
Nice see the speed and strength of the contenders.
Young riders showing up!
Vingegaard finishing on his inner chainring. Mechanical issue?
🤙 Thanks for posting the GC. Not sure what's wrong with the other channels.
The field ended up frantically paddling in the Deep Poel.
Thanks for including both French and English audio tracks! I'm learning French, but a lot of the AI-audio that YouTube is introducing these days is just terrible…
That’s an interesting visor on Evenepoel’s helmet.
Congrats to Remco Evenepoel, ehhh… for a dominant TT win today, ehhh… pure power on display, ehhh…
Remco is a stronger rider than both Pogi and Vin, just slightly less crafted to climbing so he should track them closely and not concede due to ego
Pogi shows he's not as strong as last year
Pogi nearly crashed over that road bump!
Pogi is not as strong as last year i don't know why
The physical condition of each day cannot be completely controlled. Many factors during the competition lead to different results. Congratulations to REMCO.
Merci pour le résumé en français.❤
