17 kilometers 300 routes between Charmes-sur-Rhône and Saint-Péray. Ardèche, which hosts the fourth stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné today with a time trial on the program. Thibaut Guernalec is currently on the road for this time trial. Welcome if you weren’t with us on the Rois de la Pédale plateau. We’re together this afternoon for the first key stage. I want to call it that on the roads of the Critérium du Dauphiné. We were expecting the sprinters and the adventurers during the first three stages of this Critérium du Dauphiné. Now, today, there are real gaps that could be created. We are truly on the first decisive stage. As a reminder, it is Ivan Romeo who will start in last position, he, the wearer of the yellow jersey, on this Critérium du Dauphiné. Let’s remember that there is a six-second gap between Pogacar and Vingegaard, eleven seconds between Pogacar and Evenepoel , and five seconds between Jonas Vingegaard and Evenepoel. The Groupama-fdj rider Rémi Cavagna, who hasn’t won an individual time trial since becoming French champion, has left. That was in 2023, almost two years ago, without a time trial victory for Rémi Cavagna. A quick word on the rankings. While we accompany Jonathan Milan as he enters the final kilometer, Tobias Foss completed this 17- kilometer course in 22 minutes and 20 hundredths; the third-place finisher is French. It was Pierre Thierry who set a nice time, less than a minute behind Tobias Foss, a little over 59 seconds behind. A very respectable time for Pierre Thierry, who is discovering this high level, I want to say, and in particular the timed exercise at this level. 22 minutes and 20/100, that’s Tobias Foss’s time on the finish line. Rémi Cavagna who will finish in a few moments. It will be Rémy’s best time. He has 42 seconds left to finish. Yeah, it’s going to be close. He’ll be in front, but 500 meters. There are 500 meters left at 60 kilometers H30. Just just. Just. It will go normally, but there won’t be a twelve-second lead. There will be nine. I’m not sure there are nine. I didn’t say twelve seconds. I said 12/100. Jacky. Rémi Cavagna in the final meters. 17 kilometers 400 Rémi Cavagna Who’s going to finish and who’ll be ahead of Tobias Foss ten seconds to finish. Rémi Cavagna giving it his all, Rémi Cavagna crossing the line. Come on, it’s going. 47.6 average. Three seconds ahead of Tobias Foss at the finish line. First rider to go under 22 minutes. But Benjamin Thomas, when he’s in good shape, he’s doing well. We see Lenny who went in front, feeling like he was in front of his father, in front of Mickaël, give him a little nod, a little no. So does he feel bad or not? I don’t know. Or did they offer him a bottle of water or something? He said no, but he rides a lot on the side of the pedals. The last time trial of his career. I love you, I love you neither. We must be happy. It’s a bit like Romain Bardet’s story with the timed exercises. Romain Bardet sets off. It hasn’t always been easy on this time trial bike for Romain Bardet. He’s often fought with Romain Bardet. Well, he’ll be very happy to be rid of this time trial. His. His last time trial. The last time trial of his career. Romain Bardet sets off for, let’s remember, his last week of racing. He will retire from racing at the end of this week on the roads of the Critérium du Dauphiné. Romain Bardet, the last time he uses his time trial bike, will MAYBE throw it in the trash at the finish. No, but it’s true, his whole career has still been, uh. His, his big weak point, Uh. For many years, that was really where he lost. time, where he had to limit the damage. And it was always very complicated. And this is the last time he’s playing with a triathlon handlebar with a lenticular wheel at the back. It’s Bruno Armirail who will start now. Double French champion, he had already been. It was in 2022, recent best climber of the Tour of the Basque Country. The departure of Bruno Armirail. The arrival of Lenny Martinez. We had seen him excellent at the first intermediate. Lenny Martinez is sixteen seconds, 77/100 behind Rémi Cavagna. Leader. Here he is on the finish line. 34 seconds. 46/100 behind Lenny Martinez who lost some, but not that much. In this last part, he limited the damage very very well. Lenny Martinez. . We’ll talk about equipment in a moment. But first. That. A look at Paul Seixas, the junior world champion , who clocked the second-fastest time. Eight seconds behind Rémi Cavagna after ten and a half kilometers. This guy is incredible. We were talking earlier, at his departure, about the fact that he was still in a discovery phase, that we shouldn’t expect too much from Paul Seixas. Oh well, he’s having fun on the bike, and it shows in the time trial. Come on, Romain Bardet, who finished the last time trial of the Pic Nic post-NL team rider’s career. Romain Bardet, who will retire at the end of this week, will give his all until the end. No matter the exercise, no matter the discipline, no matter his ambitions. Romain Bardet, who will finish in the best possible way. We wish him well, with a victory this week on the roads of the Critérium du Dauphiné. In any case, he will have done this time trial well. Romain Bardet. Yes, it takes more than a minute on Rémi Cavagna, but there you go, just look at the standings, many have already finished. He’s phenomenal. Paul Seixas has just finished. So no, he’s not setting the fastest time, but he’s making a date with what’s next. Paul Seixas. Only eight seconds behind at the intermediate stage. Paul Seixas. Five seconds and 4/10 behind at the finish line. This guy is impressive. He hasn’t finished surprising us. Matteo Jorgenson, night and pulverizes Rémi Cavagna’s time at the first intermediate stage. Jonas Vingegaard, one of the contenders for the overall victory on the roads of this Critérium du Dauphiné, starts . Jonas Vingegaard at the start, now 17.4 kilometers to go. Pogacar is going to take off. We saw him three minutes and 30 seconds ago. It was Evenepoel, the two-time world champion and Olympic champion, who started this time trial. Come on, Pogacar is off. And after that, I’ll just have a quick comment on what you just explained and recalled. Jacky. Before that, we’re following Tadej Pogacar’s start. The time trial was obviously what he did. I’m not going to say born in broad daylight, but we all have these images of the beautiful girls’ group always in the lead, this time trial on the roads of the Tour de France at the intermediate stage. We know that he finishes strong. It’s going to finish very strong for the last winner of Paris-Nice, Matteo Jorgenson. 28 seconds. 52/100 on the finish line. And him? And him? We don’t know. Mathieu Van der Poel, we. We were talking about the striking times of each other. It’s okay, it’s okay. It will depend. We know that when he wants to, he can do very well. Here’s Remco Evenepoel, bib number 41, the Olympic champion and world champion in the discipline, the big favorite today. Come on Bastien. Hang in there, hang in there. He must have looked at the start list this morning. Bastien Tronchon He said to himself, “Whoa, just a minute!” Behind me is Remco. Well, that’s the advantage, I’ll be able to see him in action. Another question we can ask ourselves: Will Ivan Romeo still be wearing the yellow jersey? Tonight, he’s the last rider on the launch pad. It’s off to the 17, 400 kilometers of the last rider to set off. Ivan Romeo can do it. Can’t do it. Your opinion, gentlemen. Go ahead. Do it. There’s a match. Let’s recall the general classification. 48 minutes on Pogacar. One minute, zero, six on Pogacar, one minute, twelve on Jonas Vingegaard, one minute, 17 on the sweater. Well, okay. Oh yeah, okay. Oh yeah, okay. Oh yeah, okay, okay. That’s done. That’s done. 30 seconds and 6/10 ahead of Matteo Jorgenson. They don’t do the same sport. On the time trial bike, these guys, they. Should. Not. Stumble in the final? I don’t think so. The time of American Tadej Pogacar, who wo n’t win this time trial today. He’s behind Evenepoel compared to Jonas Vingegaard. It’s a bit of a surprise we’re witnessing here. He’ll be on par with Matteo Jorgenson, who has the third fastest time. And he’ll be third fastest, third fastest. Second and third fastest. Pogacar’s times are within the same second as Matteo Jorgenson. Which in itself isn’t a bad time. But compared to Remco’s and Jonas Vingegaard’s, it’s not an exceptional time at all for the Slovenian. It’s a surprise. He had 30 seconds at the split. He put it back. Not that much, seven or eight seconds, seven or eight seconds on the flat, that seems enormous. There you go. Over 50. Over 50 on average for the jump across the finish line of this time trial today, held near Saint Péray. And it’s the stage victory that’s within reach of Evenepoel. We’ll now be watching what happens behind for these opponents in the general classification, of course, and for a possible takeover as well. I think there will be a lot to say later, on the Kings’ chainring, the small chainring. On the performance of Pogacar, who is behind, He is. Small chainring. Uh, you saw, there, there’s a problem, there, we didn’t manage to put the big chainring back, It’s not possible, Look. Yes. The problem. Yes, it must be going faster, we must not be in a small chainring there. Mechanical problem. Yeah, it’s a surprise for Jonas Vingegaard, He had a very, very good start to the time trial. And he preferred to continue like that. Jonas Vingegaard will come and take the second time on the finish line, here near Saint Péray. Jonas Vingegaard, who will ultimately, who will not have finished as he would have liked, 21 seconds behind Evenepoel. He set a great time, obviously. Except that, well, that he was beaten by Evenepoel, for me, is not a big surprise. On the other hand, that he was beaten by Jonas Vingegaard, it is. Especially with this small mechanical incident of the leader of Visma, we are eager to have answers concerning Tadej Pogacar. What happened? We saw him drinking earlier in the steepest percentages. Steve, did that image just now surprise you a little of Pogacar finishing and who will be beaten by the sweater who will be beaten by Jonas Vingegaard who will be beaten by Matteo Jorgenson. It will be the provisional fourth place. 48 seconds and 6/10 conceded to Remco Evenepoel and almost 30 seconds conceded to Jonas Vingegaard lasted 28 seconds. Conceded on the line to the Danes, his great rival announced on the roads of the next Tour de France. Advantage to the Dane. He is capable of doing everything well. It’s true that even the time trials, it’s incredible. Incredible! Mathieu Van der Poel, when he wants to, he is capable of anything. Mathieu Van der Poule Yesterday, he was in the breakaway. He didn’t win the stage, but Mathieu Van der Poel came in fifth. Over his 17.4 kilometers of time trial, he was ahead of Rémi Cavagna. He was ahead of Tobias Foss, whom we saw set this very diligent time trial. He was ahead of Paul Seixas and Bruno Armirail. He was fine-tuning, fine-tuning. But that yellow jersey was about to leave his shoulders. The Spaniard wouldn’t hold on to that leader’s jersey for another day. We MAY HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR him in French. He’s no longer the Yellow Jersey. It’s over. Yvan Roméo is no longer the Yellow Jersey. We’ll Maybe Hear Him In French. He speaks fluent French. The Spanish rider from Movistar. His mother is a French teacher. Yvan Roméo’s mother. Yesterday, he held his press conference in French. Evenepoel also won the Time Trial by the Frenchman Remco Evenepoel. The stage classification and Remco’s victory, a group wearing this cap. 1,000th victory for Quick-step. For some, it’s the 998th. For them, it’s the 1,000th. Reims Queven, a group ahead of Jonas Vingegaard, Matteo Jorgenson, Tadej Pogacar. Two Frenchmen in the top ten. Jacky said so. Rémi Cavagna and Paul Seixas. We see. This general classification, is he the new yellow jersey? Remco Evenepoel Yes, indeed, it’s close. Jacky and Steve, you did the little calculations live during this stage. Four seconds ahead of Florian Lipowitz Florian Lipowitz We talked a lot, he gave a lot yesterday. He’s not far from getting that yellow jersey. You see, he’s second. We find Ivan Romeo who is nine seconds behind in the general classification. Mathieu Van der Poel, for whom we’re speechless. Frankly, the performance is incredible. Jonas Vingegaard comes in right behind. And then Pogacar. He’s only eighth tonight in the general classification, 38 seconds behind Remco Evenepoel and therefore 22 seconds behind Jonas Vingegaard.
