DoKomi has established itself as Germany’s largest and most anticipated convention dedicated to anime, manga, cosplay, gaming, and Japanese pop culture. In June 2025 the event welcomed over 180,000 visitors to the Messe Düsseldorf, and is seen as one of the leading conventions of its kind in Europe. In this walking tour video I am showing you many highlights of the event and also the Nordpark in front of the convention. Held annually in Düsseldorf, DoKomi transforms the city into a colorful hub of creativity and fandom. Cosplayers from all over Europe showcase their craftsmanship through stunning costumes, while passionate fans, artists, and creators come together to celebrate their shared love for Japanese media and culture. The convention floor is a visual spectacle—brimming with cutting-edge cosplay, vibrant artist alley booths, merchandise from major and indie vendors, and immersive displays from anime studios and game developers. The heart of DoKomi lies in its support for independent artists and illustrators. The Artists’ Alley continues to be a major highlight, where attendees can discover everything from traditional manga-style prints to modern digital artworks.
Just a short distance from the venue lies Nordpark, a beautifully landscaped park that has become a beloved gathering spot for cosplayers. Its beautiful gardens and striking Japanese-style settings provide a stunning backdrop for photoshoots and a peaceful escape from the bustling convention halls. It was my first time at Dokomi this year. I went only friday (wish looked way less crowded than the saturday in the video lol) and it was AMAZING!
So many artists, cosplayers and more. Def. need to go again next year but two days, so I can get to all of the artists and buy cool posters and merch (only one day was too short, the halls are huge!)

I went to Dokomi on all three days. Dokomi just felt different from the anime conventions in Japan that I have been used to. They even let you sing Karaoke in Dokomi.

Könnte ich da mit meiner 3-jährigen Tochter hin? Oder gibt es dort auch zu "gruselige" Szenarien / Cosplayer? Ich kenn mich da nicht so gut aus und vielleicht hätte sie ja Spaß daran
I was at Dokomi 10 years ago and at that time, I think only 1 or maybe 2 halls were open and one was only filled half with booths (the rest of it was empty space). People chilled infront of the entrance area and an Assassins Creed cosplayer somehow got on top of the entrance building and stood there posing for photos lol
I went last year and was shocked how insanely huge the con has gotten now with so many halls opened filled with booths and stuff and so many people. I went 2 days this year and still was not able to check out every hall

Nicht böse gemeint, aber was haben Furries dort immer wieder zu suchen? Diese haben rein gar nichts mit Anime, Manga oder Japan zu tun. Das ist einfach nur super komisch, abschreckend und passt überhaupt nicht zu all dem, was auf diesem Event stattfindet. Wenn man gewisse Character aus Animes darstellen, bzw. cosplayen möchte, dann bitte doch nicht in so einem gruseligen Style!? Ich geh da nur noch ungerne hin…
Darf ich fragen was für ein Equipment zum Filmen benutzt wurde? ich hätte auch gerne ein längeres Video gemacht ohne permanent eine Kamera oder das Handy in der Hand halten zu müssen, um den Tag festzuhalten. Über eine Info freue ich mich!
