left hand side for Canon factory racing as well lars Forer getting swallowed up slightly was looking good before that corner and the grip on this climb is really muddy and you see the riders trying to find the edges trying to find a bit of Oh look it’s Carnage in the lower half of the field people getting pushed out wide there’s Alan Herly in the UCI World Champions colors looking like he’s struggling for grip up the left hand side of the track pulls in the tech feed zone leven and Hafley went for that inside left and it’s it’s right up against the tape it’s warning both struggling for grip we saw Eevee Richards the elite women’s race struggling up that first climb as well so they’re not alone you can see this grass section has just been chewed to bits by the free races we’ve already had here today and it’s making for really really tough going here on the opening stages of the elite men’s race you’re going to have a lot more resistance so it’s going to be slower so I think a lot of these riders looking at start finish we’re on a an intermediate tire maybe a mud on the front andre the rider leading this race was third here in 2023 the flying check always good on the climb really strong on the descent sometimes a little bit slower but once you get onto the helio circuits he’s always going to be a strength there is Adrien Bashi looking excuse me it’s like dropping like a stone back through the pack so is there problems here for the UCI cross country short track world champion yeah back in 26 from going south 19 seconds back what is going on with Victor Caretsky here riders flowing past him at the minute maybe a mechanical issue of some kind you’d have to wonder Ollie i mean you said the last three round so strong but did blow in that short track drop back yeah just one of those days you go further back into the 40s 50s just carnage but look Andre Sink is closed right off the lead in Paro on this climb so this one may concertina there’s your pick for the day Shel and fourth can I just say how excited I am to have an afternoon watching Martin Vidari descend through that section cuz you know possibly when you burp a tire your impact it just releases a bit of the air it’s counterintuitive isn’t it as well because you think in a mud race the average speed is lower because the lack of traction but conversely that does equal more punctures yeah and you just if you get pushed off line all of a sudden you kind of become a bit of a passenger and the bike’s going where it wants to go well the bike is not going where it wants to go at the minute for Victor Caretsky there he is on your screen now so so dominant last season caretsky in 39th now for Specialized Factory Racing we’ll bring you any update on Ketsky we can when we get as to what’s going on there but maybe just not switched on today turrets happy ground for the Thomas riders nino Sher on screen there quickly ninth and that gap looks like it’s going out ollie getting zinc pressing on you know how good he is on the climb he’s But it’s Vidari just dropping off went off really hot yeah Vidari struggling now he’s back into fourth place having led them around the first lap so Andre Sink we know how good he is up the climbs but they’re all getting back together behind them it looked like Alburn and then it was about this time of year that the Thomas rider has moved on blevens just been passed now by Lucashati and again so Blevens getting overtaken not once but twice here mystic ollie strikes again you predicted that Specializ mightn’t have this one or it is Sinku leads Fluger fluger on the A line sink on the B line oh my Fluger holds on to it big old roots starting to come out at the bottom of that descent you saw Sammy Max and the women’s race going down on that corner and you see the difference between Mattis Blinger and Andre Zinc zinc was stronger on the climbs but on the descent took the beline lost a few seconds but safe carlson reporting in again that Caretsky straight through tech feed zone no issues with the bike here we go though what is going on here victor Caretsky is out of this one victor Caretsky DNFS in Leang we will bring you an update on that one as soon as we can speak to him but that is not what we were predicting ahead of this one victor Caretsky in trouble in Lea Gang in 2025 and out of this race for his first kind of main mountain bike race last week he was good coming back into another messto but again a ride had a big old crash on the rocks the last lap lucky to get away with that one sink little check over the shoulder sees Fluker is still with him that could take you off for a week if you put you know cut in your knee or elbow or something and then the other thing is just illness these guys are pushing physically so hard training so hard it’s a real balance and you’re finishing a race like this your immune system on Monday and Tuesday is really low so the chance of picking up some sickness that you might have just on the on the day that you’re more than likely going to be on a plane yes that’s the one yeah I’m familiar with that one as well fluger drone dropping in behind him so I was about to say worrying for him is the fact that there was space for the drone to drop in behind sink it just says 6 seconds but it would look to my eyes to be a little bit more than that now but then today the table’s turning this is not looking good for the man we’re just talking about Christopher Blevens 12.2 on the strain score so relatively low low heart rate just blasting some water around the gears of that specialized this is frustrating and just having to tripod his way up there slightly as well and this is not the Christopher Blevens we’ve seen this season now he’s down adjusting his chin we’ve seen him do that once before this year going really well out front here 21 seconds he’s found another second ahead of Matias Flukager himself 36 years of age so bit of experience out the front of this one but it really is the the top climbers coming to the four and if you think of the top climbers for mountain bike over the last 10 years these two will be up there these two second and third oldest out there after Nino Sherer [Music] for the penultimate time then Andre Sink ticks off that descent he only has to get down it one more time and his debut UCI cross country World Cup win might be his but Puniner starting to stretch away from Matteas Lucager here yeah another two seconds now over with the 12 12 front guys 12 23 here we go what a ride this has been from Andre Sink and that was a fast lap from Zinc 12:15 his previous lap was 1223 so when he saw those riders come in he stepped on the gas he was 25 seconds ahead of this chasing pair let’s find out what it is now printer and Fluk are getting ready to go to war on the last lap here 24 seconds they find a second but that’s not enough simp down the ground there is that gap these two on your screen now Puner and Flukager have not going up the outside this is the steepest part just going through the time probably just got the sense that Puna was just starting to tire a bit and it was his time just to go for home and go for home he went yeah it’s just it’s been grinding consistency from Sink really hasn’t it he got a good start made that front we saw a load of riders that went off the Dar Shell like rockets he just followed for a bit and then he just carried on at the same pace yeah he didn’t yeah it’s just that thing you always talk about it was lap Delta he knew what a good lap for him looked like what he could do on a course like this you don’t want to overcook it on the climbs it’s so easy to go into the red well he hasn’t done because we saw him attacking about a couple of minutes ago to have that reserve of energy so late in he’s metered this out absolutely perfectly the man who leads this race through your shot now Andre Sink does that double late in the day emerges out towards the crowd that race for third Aaro 15 seconds behind Punter on that climb shakes his head andre sink already cannot believe it sport it can be cruel sport can break your heart but now and again sport will give you a fairy tale story just like this 12 years in the making a dream realized andre Sink tastes victory at a UCI cross country world cup in Leang for the first time what a day on the bike for Andre Sink Ollie Beck and Sale it doesn’t get any better than that what a story what a ride second place goes to Matteas Bliger but all the headlines will go to Andre Sink winning your maiden world cup at 34 years old so many second place we know he’s a class bike racer but to take the win hats off i’ve genuinely got goosebumps after that pun are on the podium in third place but look at the scenes i’m super happy because I was waiting for a long time for this i was many times second and this place I really like it uh already like under 23 i was here in Zafel then world champion in under 23 and then many uh many times on the podium here and yeah I was thinking one time that my career is already over and because I am one of one of the oldest here so I don’t have words for that yeah [Music] thank one two
