ride but one thing’s for sure this isn’t just our story it’s yours too welcome to the series [Music] every story starts somewhere it begins here mount Manganui a place we call home we sat down with someone important ben Calvin the mind behind Flicker yeah yeah um so they’d run that once and then he was like “Hey we’re really actually like what you did with sweet three we reckon that you guys would prep on um Enzy Tank and then he were like we’ll come on board and we’ll help you run it.” Yeah and then if it go well then you’ll come to Yeah so one of the other guys that was on board Luke he was based on Wellington so he this year he stepped away right um cuz he has got like young family and yes just too much going on um and so now we are completely on as like directors of the company and oh wow yeah but cool cuz we’re like we’ve got all these things in motion now and we’re like okay what if we do this and what if we do this and then and Dean’s all for it and now he’s based in Gold Coast right um but he’s Yeah he’s like “Yes let’s do that and let’s do that and let’s do that.” Massively at the moment yeah yeah massive but like sign us up yeah right that’s fantastic yeah but yeah hadn’t even thought about Trussina trust Aarina is quite good if you wanted to get back into Oakuckland and I think it’s quite cost effective and it’s a really good facility because you’ve got It’s not concrete floors though is it not i don’t believe so yeah so we just rang sweet fors at Bay Park and they’re wooden like network yeah they really wanted us to take there like we just can’t afford to like damage your floor and it’s a national drop yeah yeah yeah yeah so so yeah so we’re Belladrome we’re heading over there this week to like check out the space and how how we can like change it a little bit um we’ve got Red Bull on board oh wow yeah yeah so we managed to get them on um and so they’re going to set up like all of their gear and they’ll give us like all the assets and stuff all the Red Bull assets we can set up like the inflatable what is it like DJ gear we can set up outside like like zone like a shout out zone cuz I think that’s really what was kind of missing from March yeah where does the revenue come from then sponsorship ticket sales um actual participants yeah yeah so registration registration yeah registration so we run an online qualifier um for individuals and they have to qualify to become top um 40 in their division and sorry how do they how do they so they when you say an online qualifier what do you mean by this yeah so we put out two workouts they then do them in their gyms or at home or wherever they want to do it yeah um and then obviously submit their scores through our online platform and then that gets um like reviewed by all of us and we go through them and see make sure that their reps are all reps and stuff like that and then we pull out the top 40 top 40 participants yeah individuals and then we also have the team side of it so they don’t have to qualify but it’s teams of four yeah which is two males two females and that’s just like open registration got talking to Dean in one of their sessions and and Dean was telling about what we’re doing with champs and all of this and he was like I thought do you guys want to come and run one here i’ll financially back it so we’re literally just waiting to get the tick from him we’ve done a whole proposal up for him and sent that off this week he’s like I want to hold it i want you guys to have it at this stadium and and they’ll want it to be incredible like their production they want it like UFC a couple of the games athletes in Aussie that are um that have become really good friends with Dean they’re going to back us and support us like social media promote the event and stuff like that so it should be it should go like it should fly well cuz we only we last year we had to use event finder computer users yeah so we were like if we can just like I don’t know how as like a ticketing partner and then use you guys for at least both events anyway yeah nice yeah so that you kind of like feel like you’re there rather than all the way up the top when you’re like riding a little that’s good back in Mount CrossFit the crew linked up we’re on our way to Cranbridgeidge before we talk about that Brisbane venue Dean Brown yeah we’ll get there this place was corny why here simple it made sense affordable accessible and now the cat’s out of the bag double whammy two valad drones two series this one grassroots trust valadrome we met Craig the man behind the magic here calm composed and already on board this area is a real good halfway point between sort of like Hamilton Oakland Toadonga which are the main big feeders into our um athlete pool individual side so we the first two days of our competition is individual competition and then we do a one-day teams competition the individuals come through an online qualifier process and that begins in July this year and for the first time we bought a mic from Local Gecko Productions a live stream crew broadcast post this was their first look at the battlefield the foundation is set this is where the NZ champs will be [Music] after locking in the venue we took a short drive down the road podium Lodge the future base camp for our team our judges and some of the lucky athletes too this place it’s not just a stay a survive a pool out back space to recover kite to share a home away from home especially for our Oceanania crew flying in yes I have my part 101 and yes I have log nth [Music] weights spots for athletes they’re dropping soon so keep your eyes peeled the road to Gold Coast 2:00 a.m departure mount Manganoi to Oakland International knocked out a few emails replied to sponsors squeezed in a quick edit same grind different flight and just like that touchdown Gold Coast dean picks me up like clockwork there’s service in pound hey bro how are you yeah not too bad hey sorry we’re nearly back
