Did 55 miles last week on my newly built project bike. Rode it on a 52/16.
It wasn't too bad for the most part since I'm used to the ratio, just a bit heavy to get moving but it can move once going. The wheelset I have can be flipped over to switch cogs.
Recently switched to an 18t cog on the other side of the wheel and I'm in love with the 52/18 ratio so far.
