What’s it like to catch the Finnlines Ferry from Travemünde to Malmö if you have a bicycle?
Come with us as we catch the train from Lübeck early in the morning, then ride from the ‘Lübeck-Travemünde . Skandinavienkai’ Train Station to the Finnlines Travemünde Ferry Terminal.
The boat left at 10am and arrived at 19:15. We rode into Malmö city afterwards. Including the bikes, the ticket cost 44 Euro.
What do you think of this ferry? Would you try it? Have you done something similar? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.

[Music] well after two days on the mighty captain we’re about to set off and go to the ferry [Music] i’m s we can take a n so we are in line eight hopefully you can see there and behind me is the entryway we’re the first people here we are the first people we’re the absolute first people here because you know with the Kraken so she gets us here early and Charles has an official Fin Lines so does PJ safety vest so do I uh they gave it to us for free because we didn’t have one and apparently you have to have one yeah so up there that’s where the gates are we came into the uh area where the cars come through there was also a cycle path but I think Google Maps is sending you off on some inappropriate direction and this is where we wait so the guy was very clear go down to the end of the row one and don’t pass the uh bar like the marker also they give you one of these tags that you got to stick onto your bike somehow there’s Charlie’s tag and that’s one of the reasons why you’re not allowed to go further forward love was so great [Music] do it do it do [Music] it heat heat [Music] feel my boomer my boomer my boomer [Music] [Music] love was so great [Music] don’t believe it but in here if I go through I just make sure there’s nobody there that’s like the rolls i don’t know if you wear it or you sit on it there is a sauna so that’s not in use at the moment there’s like a pool jacuzzi thing and then in here there’s actually a sauna on the ferry my goodness that is so weird [Music] [Music] [Music] we’re in Melmo Swed eden after successfully catching the ferry the car ferry from Germany to Malmo uh the trip’s going to change a little bit now and I don’t mean to bore you but we’re going to put away the bicycles which we’ve already done so we’re using the app showers but we found uh with my host that will look after our bikes while we’re off having a family holiday with my son and his fiance around Sweden norway uh for about a month so we dropped them off yesterday it was completely hassle-free three lovely ladies we’re going to watch a concert of theirs tonight in the cathedral here so it’ll be really cool um and now the trip will be just sort of entertaining the children looking around there’ll be fairies there’ll be hiking there’ll be multiple cities and hopefully we won’t bore you and this tug is really cool so we’re in Melmo Harour and there’s an old uh steam fired tug here and let me tell you you can really tell the difference between Germany which was lovely short weather you know you could run around shorts t-shirts and there’s a little nip in the air so we’ve been here 2 days and it’s freezing you know I don’t think it’s been above 11 since we got here and uh it rain it’s rained every day we’ve been here we’ve only been here two days but it’s rained both days so if you’re coming up to Scandinavia you have to dress for the weather yeah that’s the boat we came in on over there and it while it looks very close to where we’re standing it’s it’s 6 km to ride here because you have to go around in a big arc to get here uh you know it’s it’s a bit deceptive when you look at it on the map you think “Oh you just ride straight down the road.” But there’s no passage through you have to do the 6 km to get here [Music]

Hi Charlie and Penelope, thanks for being guest in your video. Unfortunately I didn‘t made it to North Cape, but I went from Malmö to Gothenburg, then took the ferry to Fredrikshavn in Denmark. I crossed Denmark and went down the westcoast and enjoyed it so much. I‘m now in Glücksburg and spend some days with my daughter. Now it‘s about 1500 km and it is not at the end. Ride save and have a good time and always remember: no Holiday without a ferry and Four wheels move the car but two wheels move the Soul. Kisses, Andrea from Germany 😘
Thanks for sharing. Hope you liked Lübeck!
