During the trip, there were many moments that made me smile — but hearing my mom speak couple word of English was definitely one of the cutest.
She’s a classic French mom — She understand english is an other language but she also beleive that if she speak french slowly and with conviction the person will understand, Right ? So during our adventure, I decided I would try to teach her five English words a day. It’s the same method I used to learn Estonian!
And she really tried. Sometimes hesitating, often laughing, but always giving it her best.
I was proud. Proud of how she stepped out of her comfort zone — not just for the language, but for this whole adventure.
And I love that this trip wasn’t just about me showing her the road…
It became a journey where we both learned from each other.
She learned how to say “very beautiful” — and I learned even more about her own strenght to go for such an adventure. It is beautiful to reach this relationship with my mum where we just grow together 🌱💛
