WHY WAS I RIDING A BIKE IN INDIA? Well, Ravi, who owns the fish n chip shop in my home town in Scotland, said he was afraid to tour India on his own; he was going to India for 4 weeks, why don’t I go with him, he has a motorbike I can use. The plan was that I would ride alone for two weeks and then Ravi and I would take in the Taj and tour the area for two weeks. Well, Ravi got sick and couldn’t ride along so I rode alone.
I’ve been riding long distance motorbike trips for 20 years so I just couldn’t say no. Would I have chosen to ride a sports bike in the Himalayas? No! But when I arrived in India, and the promised bike keys were handed to me, they were the keys of a Suzuki GixxerSF
