We stayed at the Caravan & Motorhome Club Site, Lady Margaret’s Park, at Chirk Castle, Wales.

This park, since being refurbished, is usually fully booked so we grabbed a booking while we could, then fell ill! 😷 .

A perfect location as it is easy walking into the village with shops, pubs and cafes, even a train station. Right on the Shropshire canal path, national cycle route 84 to Llangollen passing over the highest Aqueduct in the world. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a UNESCO world heritage site built by Thomas Telford.

first occurs in a survey in 1569 but we don’t know why it was given this name It may have once been occupied by the medieval constable or governor of the castle as in an account of 1529 it is referred
