[Music] so we just got off the train from Hamburg we’re now in Butcham and uh of course the train we’re going to catch got cancelled so we caught the next train so we’re a bit late it’s around 11:00 so we only have a short day today it’s only about 60 km pj’s looking forward to it and it’s all dirt so well you know there’ll be a little bit of road riding but mostly dirt so hopefully it’ll go well because I planned the course which means if it doesn’t I’m in the poo but it’s a beautiful day everything looks great all pigs are fueled and ready to fly [Music] the glamour of cycle tourists so we’re on our path um from Button to our next place of staying which is about 50 km and we’re following this canal and PJ’s bonking so she stopped so she could eat a bread roll but it’s beautiful and peaceful bucolic you can see fish jumping out of the canal and lots of ducks and geese we’re um on a canal and we’re going to a lake and we got off the train about an hour and a bit ago and so far the path’s been perfect and the canal’s been perfect all we’ve seen is other bike riders and walkers the path is very ridable and this is called the old salt route now when we tried to find out information about this you couldn’t find anything but this this is a perfect trail and every time you tried to put it into the maps machine it tried to send you onto the road but this rail is this trail is very ridable it’s very lovely completely carfree and next to the water the whole way we’ve seen lots of wildlife we’ve seen lots of walkers and lots of other bicycle riders and it’s a shame that this isn’t more widely known so it’s called the old salt route to Ludvik [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] this waterway is very very popular really cool [Music] [Music] we’re just riding through the outskirts of this city this town and we’ve been going through some of the suburban streets which is just beautiful and yeah you know like matte beautiful buildings of all different sizes but perfectly preserved just lovely the the rivers are full of swans and uh you know really good but here they’ve got a swimming in the water there that’s a swimming pool in the in the water down there and uh a lot of people out it’s a lovely day and I’m really excited to go into this city of Luck Burke i’m sure I’m saying that wrong but it’s there anyway and there’s the bikeies this is the captain what’s it called the captain okay and PJ wants to call this the scout but I think it should be called the rear guard definitely the rear guard cuz where is it always PJ behind you and the scouts are supposed to be in front doing the scouting in my defense he’s very fast when he gets going but you know I I’m a leader that leads from the front a captain that leads from the front [Music] hey you got to take me in the International 4 international [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] like a [Music] [Applause] [Music] sing 1 2 3 they’re going to run back to me climbing over mountains and sailing overseas one two three they going to run back to me they always want to come but they never want to leave [Music] my bag don’t ask [Music] me it’s a rap it’s a lot of bags on this [Music] map for a taxi to go tax [Music] it’s cold heart but I’m getting on the target [Music] 1980s styling a hotel room there we go there’s Charlie in a 14th cent in a 16th century building yeah oh you can probably see the bathroom there they got a fan just you know just in case well after two days on the Mighty Captain we’re about to set off and go to the ferry so it’s almost it’s just before 7:00 i’m just reflecting on the last couple of days on the bike so the first day was about 50 km and it was beautiful it was all along the water it was lovely the last little bit was highway riding only because the Kraken was over it and wanted to get to the hotel straight away but you could have ridden along the lake edge the whole way there’s a bike path so just if you’re doing it leave the grumpiness at home and go along the bike path okay so anyway then we only had 13ks to go yesterday all of which was along a highway but it was all on a bike path and it was very quick but exploring Lelbrick was really cool like you can see where the bombs had landed during World War II there was some you know builtin but there was quite a significant amount of the old city still there the old town still there and it was really nice and yesterday was Labor Day so we went to a Labor Day um protest sort of demonstration and then we went to a Labor Day um festival where they had live singing and you know there was a lot of different things there and they had the communists and they also had you know the socialist alliance and it was quite interesting so anyway it was good hey hey hey [Music]
