already slid a lot on that hill and also where was Narvas Arkamman has a illtime mechanical with 30ks to go quickstep get into good position with uh Ankhorn and Varka because we’re coming up to that important hill remco is obviously noticeable from the golden helmet from winning the Olympics last year and it’s with about eight less six sevenks to go that hill crest but still the breakaway is not caught if Fred Ryder had counterattacked and gone across after that lull after the first rep and Pagatcha is free lancing he’s not going to trust his team he’s going to go to the Vizma train then he of Vanderpool and Pagatcha and now some really exciting racing kicks off nuruka’s up the road jorgensson sees this is an opportunity he can roll over Vanderpool i mean who wants to go to a sprint with Vanderpool who wants to go to a sprint with Johnny Milan if he’s still there and Vanderpool doesn’t really want to react straight away but he’s like I guess I have to for the stage win remember Vanderpool just had a scaffoid injury from a crash in the mountain bike his legs look pretty good to me in this stage closing a lot of attacks pagatcha does the the rest for Vanderpool closing on this short downhill as Naruka slows down a bit but that’s not it i mean look at it in a single file it’s like 25 riders van Hills goes Tullet goes and Pagata reacts on him so Pagatcha is reacting on a lot this isn’t We aren’t in the mountains we aren’t even This isn’t even a steep hill anymore they’re just racing on flat slightly uphill roads now at the end of a sprint stage and here was the surprise of the stage gonas Vingar drops the hammer on Té Pagatcha which I don’t think Aanapool was expecting we don’t we’re wondering where is Aanapool when this is all happening vanderpool reacts to let the wheel go santiago who was really good at the start of the season before he had a crash i think he jumps out of the pelaton and these four look like they’re gone vinger guard’s gone 50 kph on the false flight uphill pagatcha gets back to his wheel jorgensson’s on the radio saying you got a gap and look at Ramco he just got brought back I think by Shakman on the left hand side i mean he’s seeing the two GC favorites for this race look at the gap they’ve got so Reno’s positioning wasn’t great but his legs must have been good because he bridges this gap pretty fast when everyone else in this pelaton was cooked and no one else goes with him but for Vanderpool this is looking really good got GC riders pagata is always going to ride remco is always going to ride santi will ride for his GC position ter got one rider bard is getting countered and Vizmer helping block behind because Vingard’s up the road even Vingard’s relaying for Vanderpool is looking perfect but unfortunately for him the Pelton starts getting closer vingard skips here he skips a turn pelton gets a little bit closer looks like they’re about to get caught 2.4ks to go they can almost reach out and touch them ef are for chasing for Narup reduce group sprint danthon have got Tron Shawn there and now Vingard stops pulling all together goes to Pagatcha 700 meters to go and Vanderpool’s pot committed he has to go to the line now he’s not going to win the sprint from the group behind santi goes to his wheel pagatra and Vingar weren’t going to react but they have to react on Remco and so Pagatra goes to the wheel of Remco vulnerable has to do like a 700 meter lead out and unfortunately for him he gets finessed by the GC boys the group coming from behind Jake Stewart for Israel uh I think won the group sprint behind but it was Tai Pagatcha who won the sprint he rolled over Remco rolled over Vanipool vingard comes second in the sprint but Pagatcha gets the better of Vanderpool and the Dane winning his I don’t know like millionth race this season and going into the leaders jersey of course ahead of Engle Aable then Steuart Pon Venttorini Tomar and Penway here’s what Pagacha had to say after the race I followed the moves on the on the steep part of the climb and then uh yeah Vizma was uh clearly going for the stage win they were trying with everybody to attack on on the top and uh uh fortunately I had good legs and uh I cover all the attacks and then even uh for the last one for the cherry on the top he attacked on the top then uh that one was painful and luckily was downhill almost almost all all the way down and uh to the finish so I could recover a bit and then uh around 2k to go to to prepare for sprint and uh it worked probably the most exciting opening stage of the dopamine I’ve ever
