Just ran my first marathon and decided I'd like to go for a 70.3 next year. Going to hang up the MTB for a little bit to train but I need to purchase a solid road bike for the event and just to have for general weekend riding.
I'm in between two bikes:
Trek Domane AL 4 and Polygon Strattos S7D
I've read up on previous posts comparing the two but none of them really covered the info I was looking for. Considering the similarity in price, which would be better between the two. To me, it's almost too easy to choose the Polygon due to the frame material and specs alone, BUT I do have a Trek store down the street from me, if that makes a difference at all.
OR since I'm new to road biking, do I go with a lower priced Domane AL 2 or Strattos S4 and spend the money elsewhere (tri goggles, wetsuit, road cycling gear, etc)
I do plan on committing to the sport, not quite ready to invest very heavily into it, aside from the necessary gear to get out and be comfortable.
